Crisis!!!!
Colby was crawling and got ahead of himself in the kitchen. I was standing right above him when I heard a loud 'smack'. He started crying so I immediately picked him up and snuggled him. I didn't see any blood, no bumps or red marks and figured he'd just scared himself. He calmed down really quickly. A few minutes later he gave me a kiss and I felt something sharp. I was horrified to see a huge chip out of his left tooth and a small one out of his right. I started bawling. Jason swares I cried harder than Colby did! We are very lucky that it doesn't seem to have damaged the nerve (he hasn't been in any pain at all and eats like you'd never know anything happened). We are going to get him evaluated by a dentist this week. Of course...we didn't enroll Colby in dental (the thought never even crossed my mind) and now that Jason only has two months left in the Marine Corps we are ineligible to enroll him. We'll probably have to get a crown for his tooth which can be very expensive. Let this be a lesson to all of my friends who have young kids or are about to have kids be sure you get your child dental insurance, you never know if you might need it.
Chase is two months old!
Some random Chase pictures...
Now that Chase is 2 months old here is what is happening in his world...
He can hold his head up very well
He smiles and giggles all the time
He's very ticklish
He loves bath time
He is very responsive to his brother and enjoys watching him
He coos and 'talks' a lot
He enjoys sucking on his hands and/or pacifier
He usually wakes up three times a night (he'll go to bed around 8pm and wake up at 10:30pm, 3:30 and 5am and gets up for the day around 7am)
He wears size 6 month clothes (although I occasionally squeeze him into 3-6 month stuff just so I can get some use out of it)
We have his two month well check on Tuesday so I'll update with his weight and height than. I'm expecting that he'll measure very big! He has lots and lots of rolls and chins!
Chase, rocking the sweater vest, chillin' with Leah at Starbucks (check out those chins!)Snoozing in his carseat (he has slippers that match his brother's)

15 Month Well Check
(I'm a little late in posting this, we had this appointment on the 25th of November)
This picture was taken after the nurse practitioner left, he was not crazy about her!!!

He took his shot like a champ! He didn't eve cry! Just got a little teary eyed but all was fine after a long snuggle from mommy!
Now that Colby is 15 months old here are the things that are happening in our world...
He weighed 25 and 1/2 pounds and was 31 and 1/2 inches tall (puts him in the 75th percentile for both)
Likes are much of the same - eating (he has recently tried scotch a roos and is a big fan of those), bath time, reading stories, being chased, hide and go seek, kitchen utensils (especially the silicone basting brush - that thing is worth it's weight in gold!), reorganizing drawers and cabinets, car cell phone chargers and hangers
He loves to help with laundry, handing me clothes and shaking them out and of course closing the dryer door!
Loves brushing teeth
He is turning into quite the avid reader and books have now become his favorite 'toy' his favorite includes a nursery rhyme book from my mom and any cook book he can get his hands on
Can throw balls really well and has quite an arm! They are his second favorite play thing
Loves to kiss little bro as often as he gets the chance
He is showing more of an interest in walking in the past few days, he will walk all through the room using the walls for a little extra support
Can now reach door knobs (uh oh!) but fortunately doesn't know how to turn them yet
Can stand unassisted but chooses not to most of the time
Tolerates wearing shoes and socks now
Says 'mama', 'dada' and 'nana' (banana) and many other unintelligible words. He talks all the time! But mostly uses the point and whine technique to indicate 'I want that' and the shaking/excited technique to indicate 'yes'
Loves animal noises and can grunt like a hog and growl like a bear
He really doesn't have a lot of dislikes, he is such an easy going kid. But a few that come to mind are...large Christmas decorations (he especially hates the blow up yard ones - he will furiously shake his head back and forth and cling on to any near adult for protection), he doesn't like to be touched by strangers, especially doctors (this is not something that will be helped much when we get his filling this week!), he cries occasionally when we put him down but other than that is a pretty easy going guy

Thanksgiving Day
Cool New Slippers
I thought Colby looked so cute in these slippers...of course they only actually stayed on his feet for 5 minutes but while they were there they sure looked cute!
Bath Time
Instead of me giving Chase a bath in the sink while Jason gives Colby one in the tub we decided to combine them. Jason and I sit on the edge of the tub with our feet in the water - each responsible for a kid. I guess you could say we're finally figuring out this two kid thing. The boys think it's great. Colby swam over and gave Chase at least 6 kisses during the bath. It's a lot of fun for Jason and I too. The boys are so cute together.
Both boys staring into space, baths are so relaxing!
Colby, Pointing out the obvious...
Picture Day
I wanted to practice using my camera and the Timmons family offered to model for me. It was a freezing day but we still were able to get some good pictures...Chase was completely bundled up. The cold didn't bother him at all! And...yes, we've resorted to the pacifier. Anything for a quiet moment!
Daddy was on kid duty while I played photographer. Once Colby starts walking it will be so much easier to have two boys. Jason was really working with him and he does pretty well with one hand but boy is Chase heavy in that carseat!

Some Colby Videos...
Colby is now over 15 months old and, nope...we're still not walking. Here are a few videos of our attempts at getting Colby to walk. He is not just cautious but has absolutely no desire to try. I think he just gets a kick out of seeing the crazy things Jason and I do to get him to try!
There is nothing like a baby laugh. I can't watch this video without laughing.

It's Hard to be the Little Bro...
Poor Chase. He has a pretty rough life. Here are a few examples...
His mom makes him get all dressed up just so she can take pictures
Sometimes I have to share a lap with my brother who is a lot bigger than me
Everything I have to put up with leaves me exhausted!
But I'm still a pretty happy guy.

The Marine Corps Ball
On Tuesday Jason and I went to his Unit's Ball. It was a lot of fun. My friend Leah and her son Robert watched the boys. It was the first time just Jason and I have been out on a date since last year's ball! It was so nice to have some couple time but boy did I miss those boys!!!
Thanks Ling for letting me borrow the dress!
My handsome Marine! This is our last ball (since he's getting out January 19th) and while it made me sad I am also full of a huge sense of relief knowing
he will not have to leave our family again.
he will not have to leave our family again.
Clean Boys
Around 6:30 at night things get a little hectic at our house while I give Chase a bath and Jason gives Colby a bath. But around 6:45 we have two clean and happy boys! They both love bath time. Colby loves it when Chase is laying on the bed and we're getting their jamies on together. Colby always reaches out for Chase. It's so cute. Soon we'll be able to give them both a bath at the same time, that will make things a lot easier but I'm not sure how they'll both fit in Bob's sink! :D
