Important Phone Call...

The boys had a very important phone call on their pretend phone the other day. As you can see from the pictures there was a lot of serious business going on in this call...

Peas in a Pod

Colby and Jason look so much alike, sometimes I forget just how alike they look! Here are two of my special boys relaxing before Jason had to leave for work. I am so excited for the day when he doesn't work the evening shift!!

Introducing the Newest Member of the Weber Family...

Here is our sweet puppy, Bauer. He is a great dog! Puppies are a lot of work but I'm sure it will pay off. The boys adore him. Colby walks around saying, "Bauer's such a great doggie!" Chase just calls him doggie and loves petting him. Bauer is great with the boys (not only does he enjoy the crumbs the boys leave behind but they also have really great toys!). He loves to please and already knows how to sit and lay down. He is doing great with potty training too! This has been a great trial in patience but also a very fun adventure. Jason tried getting me a puppy to distract me from wanting another baby, for now I am too sleep deprived to even consider it! His evil plan is working! We can't wait to introduce Bauer to all of our friends and family!

Chase is 19 Months!

I can't believe my little baby is 19 months! He is growing so fast and turning into quite the little individual! Here are the stats...
Weight - 29 pounds! (At his 18 month well check he was 27 pounds and 15 ounces putting him in the 70th percentile)
Height - 32.5 inches (60th percentile)
Head - 19.5 inches (90th percentile)
He wears size 5 diapers and 24month or 2T clothes.
Likes - He loves going on the swings, going "bye bye", trucks (especially trash trucks), he still loves his paci, loves going "ni nite", balls, reading stories, and dinosaurs, any kind of fruit (especially blackberries), he loves attention and fully owns the nickname - Mr. Congeniality, he is also crazy about soda (thanks to my mom!!! He has never had a sip of soda when he's with me!), he loves Toy Story.
Dislikes - He's not a huge cookie or candy person, he likes a bite here and there but is not a huge sweets guy, he is kind of a mama's boy and cries when I leave, He does not like being dropped off at nursery. Overall though, he's a pretty easy going guy and doesn't cry much.
Nicknames - He is our Chasey or Chasey bear, Colby sometimes calls him Chasey Lacey.

Jason and Ashley's Crazy Adventure...

We have been thinking about getting a dog for a few weeks now and when Jason and I 'think' about doing anything it quickly turns into an obsession until we accomplish whatever we were 'thinking' about. So, our search for the perfect dog quickly escalated. On Sunday morning we drove to Colorado Springs to meet someone to look at puppies. It was a disaster, she was so sketchy! The dogs were super timid and afraid of being touched and were dirty. You could tell she didn't care about them. I called a few different people throughout the day on Sunday and Sunday afternoon I spoke with a breeder in Julesberg, Colorado. She explained she had two dogs...one was an 18 month old who was just too mellow to be a show dog, the other was a 10 week old puppy. We were thrilled to hear about this 18 month old dog. Mellow and lazy was exactly what we were hoping to find! And a dog that was getting out of his puppy stage sounded perfect! So, we made the last minute drive to the Colorado/Nebraska border. My parents were kind enough to watch the boys for us. It was actually really fun to spend that amount of time in the car with Jason. The last time we did a roadtrip with just the two of us was when we were newlyweds and we moved to NC. We arrived around 7:15pm and found ourselves in German Shepherd heaven. The dogs were amazing. She brought the older one from Germany herself and he was amazing, just as mellow and lazy as she told us. He was absolutely beautiful too. The puppy was a doll, who can resist a little fluff ball??? What was so endearing about him was how he never left her side. She called him her pocket puppy. He absolutely thrived on affection and attention and was very mellow too. When we left Castle Rock Jason said, you know we're coming home with a dog right? The 208 mile journey was not just to look! Which one did we choose...you'll have to stay tuned to find out! :D

Happy 2nd Birthday Luke!

We were so blessed to be invited to Luke's 2nd birthday party. The kids had a blast! Luke was so cute and really seemed to enjoy himself. Angie made this beautiful cake (of which I wasn't able to get a picture of in time! What a bummer, you'll just have to take my word for it) Happy birthday Luke! We love you! I can still remember 2 years ago when I was living at Bob's, pregnant with Chasey with Jason deployed, feeling very sorry for myself, and happened to look in the window of the house next door and spot a beautiful pregnant lady. I saw her as such an inspiration. Who would have thought, 2 years later we would be such close friends!

Our Little Marine...

Jason and I refer to Chasey as our little Marine because there is nothing that boy can not adapt and overcome! He especially loves challenges of fitting into spaces he shouldn't be able to fit into! Here is an example of just that!

Adventures in the Playroom!

Here are just a few of the things you might see if you were to peek into our playroom window...Chasey using puzzle pieces as makeshift pacis, Colby playing basketball and using his leg for the ball, Chasey snuggling with Buzz, or the boys playing their favorite game, one Colby invented. Something he named, "Runaround" this is when he and Chasey run in circles around the room. Today Colby even asked Jason and I to help pick up his toys so he could do "runaround". I'm so happy he sees the rationale between having fun and keeping his toys tidy!

Delicious Treats...

I decided to let the boys try one of Aunty Cindy's beautiful Easter creations. They enjoyed themselves! Colby finished his and immediately tried to take Chasey's. Chase is too smart for that though and would not let it fly! Thanks again for making those Aunty Cindy! We love you!

Happy Easter

It is so fun to watch the fun and excitement unfold through the boy's eyes. We are so thankful that God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins. I never fully realized what that sacrifice meant until I became a parent.

The little girls did a beautiful presentation with resurrection eggs and we all got together for a big group photo (these are just the cousins).

We were honored to host Easter this year and it was a blast! It was a little bit of a challenge getting everything ready with the boy's help but thanks to help from my mom and Bob and the pot-luck style food everything went off without a hitch! Auntie Cindy created this beautiful arrangement of handmade candies. She used to make those when I was little, it was such a treat to get to have them again...they are a TON of work! Chasey looked like such a big kid in his Easter clothes, daddy did his hair too...

The Easter bunny surprised the boys with some new toys. The giant Buzz and Woody were a huge hit along with the sea creatures (that looked just like the characters in Finding Nemo). The boys have also had a blast with the Sesame Street apartment. And the giant shark...don't worry, we've had to bring that thing with us everywhere we've been since Easter. We look crazy at the doctor's office with him! The things we do for our kids. The morning of Easter I woke up hearing Colby say, "Touch him Woody, touch this big shark." Colby was trying to get Woody to make sure the shark was safe before actually touching it himself.
