Happy 2nd Birthday Chasey!

The day got started perfectly! Our very special friend, Rose, sent Chasey's birthday package and it arrived on his special day. So the morning began opening presents! I still remember Rose's presents from when I was a little girl, she always picks the best stuff!

This little Elmo is so cute! He makes smooching noises when you press his hand to his mouth.

Chasey loved it!

Chasey giving Elmo a smooch back!

Happy Birthday Boy

Present time! Mommy and Daddy bought Chasey some tractors.

Good thing Chasey has Colby to help open presents!

And a super cute little ride on fire engine. I've never seen a cuter fireman!

I can't believe my baby is 2! He is still my Chasey Baby and will always be. Now that he's two here are a few of things about Chasey...
Speech: He talks all the time! He says 6 + word sentences and always keeps us laughing. He will frequently ask, "Where daddy are?" when Jason is at work. He knows that daddy works at the Police A-C-A-D-E-M-Y (he is careful to articulate every letter), and mommy works at Children's 'Hosbible'. He says Bob the Builder with the cutest Boston accent (no clue where that came from). He is not shy and will always talk to anyone that will listen.
Interests: This is a boy that loves to be on the go! When Colby is at preschool often Chasey and I will run errands. Chasey will say, "No go home mommy" because he loves to be out and about. He loves Bauer. He is a mama's boy and a bit of a drama king, I never knew it was possible to cry and laugh at the same time but Chasey has it mastered. He has two favorite loveys, Sun and Moon (two teddy bears). He also has a couple of special blankies. He loves Toy Story but enjoys playing with cars and trains too. He enjoys talking about potties, poop and pee but not too interested in doing more than just sitting on the potty.
Food: He is an ok eater, somedays he eats great and other days not so much. He does love veggies and salad (not something I would expect from a 2 year old). He loves milk too. He can feed himself, it just depends on if he chooses to that day or not.
Sleep: He is a great sleeper, taking one 2 to 3 hour nap a day and sleeping from 7:30 at night to 7:30 in the morning.
Motor: He is always "jumping for joy" as Suka says, he jumps up and down all the time, he is great at going up and down stairs (holding on to something on the way up but can do a few steps down without any assistance).
Size: He is wearing mostly 2T and some 3T stuff (it's so handy,  I put it straight from Colby's closet into Chasey's.)  He was 31 pounds, 2 ounces (80th percentile for weight) and 36 inches tall (85th for height).  (Colby was 30 pounds, 10 ounces and 35 1/2 inches tall, so Chasey is still a little bigger than he was - which is only fair since Chasey came out weighing 1 pound, 4 ounces more than Colby did at birth!)

Chasey is always saying things and doing things to make us laugh, he has brought nothing but joy to our lives since the day he was born and we thank God for him everyday!

Colby and Chasey's Big Birthday Bash!

Chasey was the first kiddo on the fire engine!

He loves sitting in that truck!

The line of kiddos waiting to have a turn sitting in the Fire Engine...

My little firemen

I just love that smile!

I love how the boys are looking at Luke, Luke has a very happy face!

I love this pic, my boys are looking around acting like they've never had a picture taken...Luke and Ashley on the other hand, have on their perfect smiles.

That's a little better!

We love Logan!

It was really cool having the Fire Engine come to our house but I think my grandma, Bob, enjoyed it more than any of the kids!

Here's the fire engine at our house! Kind of crazy to see, I'm just glad it's here for a party and not an emergency!

Chasey checking out the back seat.

Bob wanted a picture taken so she could show it off to her cop sons (or at least that's what she said!)

The firemen were more than happy to get a really good picture with her, just feeding into the fireman/cop rivalry. Bob was really getting into her photo session too! What a cool grandma (and great grandma) we have!

My boys, all of them.

Our family...

I love those lashes.

My favorite part of being a parent is seeing the world through my children's eyes. This picture is exactly what I'm talking about. It is so amazing to see how excited the boys get over seeing a fire truck.

Chasey on the swings...

Our youngest birthday guest, Gabe. Look at those baby blues.

Some of the party guests. It is especially great to see my dad's parents, Nonnie and Poppa. They came all the way from North Denver! We love you guys!

Gabriel is seriously one of the cutest babies I've ever seen!

More Gabe (sorry Hayley, I was practically stalking your son!)

Chasey and his cake, he takes cake very seriously!

My cousins, Annie and Bella

And Brooke!

Our family with the cake (can you tell the boys were starting to get tired in this picture?

I am so blessed!

When I was looking through the pictures my girlfriend took for me I laughed outloud when I saw this one. I'm not sure who was having more fun with presents...me or the boys! :D And yes, that's a squirt bottle - we love squirt bottles at this house!

We're also really into tractors these days.

Doctors (or nurses!) in training...

One of the boys' absolute favorite birthday presents was the doctor kit. They whipped it out and started doing assessments on each other. It was especially neat to watch because I've never even brought my stethescope home, I had no idea they knew how to use one!

Best of Friends

The boys were watching the tractors work behind our house. I thought it was so cute that they both fit on one chair. They truly are the best of friends.

3 Year Well Check

Ready to be examined!

Chasey's ready too!

Snugs for a bro.
I forgot to schedule Colby's well check until the month he turned three, they get full so fast that this was the soonest we could get in. All went well! Colby weighs 40 pounds and is 40 inches tall which places him in the 97th percentile for both. They predicted he would reach an adult height of 6 foot 5 inches tall! I laughed out loud when they said that. I am 5'5'' and Jason is 5'11'' I don't know where Colby is getting his height from! Everything checked out well, there are still some things that kids his age are able to do more quickly than Colby can but I really think that has more to due with Colby's cautious personality than his actual ability. He has been that way since he was born, I had to bribe him to even try to roll over from his tummy to back when he was 6 months old, he didn't start crawling until he was 11 months old and walking until he was 17 months old. Now he's doing all those things including running, jumping he is just hesitant to walk down the stairs without holding on to anything. It is that tender, observant, cautiousness that makes him so special. That is what makes him Colby!

Let the potty training begin...Kinda

Does it get anymore boy than this? Picking his nose while chillin' in his undies, gotta love it.

Modeling the new undies.

Where did my baby go? And who is this grown up kid?

Winning smile.

Chasey wanted to take some pictures too, here he is showing how handsome he is.

Chasey loves pockets! He will find them in all of his pants and walk around with his hands in them like a cool dude. Watch out ladies...
Anyone who knows me knows I am in NO rush to potty train. Colby probably could have been potty trained months ago if I put any effort into it at all. He will go potty on demand and is great about peeing and pooping in the potty, I drop the ball by forgetting to remind him to go. He is really potty training himself!
