Happy Halloween!

We took some pre-party pictures of our little dragon. He was so cute in the costume. The instant we put it on Jason and I were laughing out loud! He didn't really seem to mind it. We went to 'Trunk or Treat' at the church we've been going to. It was a lot of fun. Leah and her family were in charge of music. They did such a great job they sang Colby right to sleep! Of course we couldn't leave without letting Leah have a chance to love on him and hold him. He decided that was the time to act the part of a dragon! Overall we had a great night. It really made us look forward to when we're home and we can teach Colby our Halloween tradition at the Hudnalls. We really missed your guys this year!

Halloween Morning!

Colby was dressed in his pre-party outfit in these pictures - the bat hat from mom, the onsie from Jana and the socks from Rose. He looked so cute! Before we could leave for Target to get our last minute items he had to get in a good nap. This is our new carseat liner that Graco sent us. I actually really like it. I love Colby's expression in this picture. It's almost as if he's saying...Target, AGAIN?

I've Been Tagged by Hayley
The Rules:
A. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
B. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog, for these rules.
My 6 facts/habits:
1. I am addicted to kissing Colby...there, I admitted it. In fact, when we brought him home from the hospital I had to break into my chapstick stash because my lips were so chapped from giving him kisses.
2. I routinely use 99% of our monthly minutes (leaving Jason with a measly 1%). I can't help it! I love talking to friends and family. A great day is one that I get to talk to my mom. I call her at least every other day (but more often than not it is daily).
3. I love spending time with Jason. I thought that afer a year of marriage and 6 and a half of dating I would be sick of him but...nope! I miss him when he is at work, and a lot of times when he's home too because he is usually sleeping (he works nights)
4. I am typing with one hand because I'm holding Colby. I'm trying to get better about laying him down to sleep but it's so hard! And...he still sleeps with me. Another habit that is hard to break. It's fabulous because I get so cold at night and when Jason isn't home to warm me up I have my own little personal toaster oven!
5. Every night before I go to bed I always tidy up our apartment. I am a little bit of a neat freak so our place is usually pretty clean, except when Jason is the last person to go to bed that is another story.
6. I love taking pictures, my favorite little subject is Colby! As you can probably tell. That is the one area that I spare no expense.
Hayley and Anna (sorry girls you're the only ones I know that have a blog!)

Ready for your close up?

I had a lot of fun with my camera yesterday. I'm pretty sure Colby can now be considered the most photographed baby in the world. In the past few days I've really been noticing some changes in his eyes. They've turned from a slate grey color to a deep blue. I've also noticed his eyelashes. When he was born he literally did not have any but now they've grown out and are so long! We're still working on the eyebrows!

Growing so fast!!

This is one of my favorite outfits. We got it at the shower. Unfortunately when I was unpacking I left a pocket full of clothes in my suitcase that I discovered when I was packing for our October trip. I've tried to get as much use out of this outfit as I possibly could but I think it's time to pack it away!

Our crazy animals...

This was the first day Kiwi was back to normal since I've been home. We had quite a scare with her. She stopped eating and drinking when Colby and I went to Colorado. Jason had to take her to the vet at 2am. The vet gave her some fluids and some valium (poor dog!) and told Jason to drop her off the next morning for observation. When I got home she looked awful - emaciated! I think she at least lost a pound. It took her a few days to come around but as you can see from these pictures she is much better! She thought Colby wanted to play with Scooby too. And we were cleaning and stacked the pillows to get them out of the way, apparently Kiwi thought they were meant for her! What a princess! And the one in the middle, that's Felix...he's so weird!

Happy Baby!

Colby is getting so much personality. His smiles just make my day. They light up his whole face. He has also started 'talking' he makes noises and interactions in response to things we say. It is amazing. I feel like we have a little person instead of a boring newborn. And to know the adventures have just begun is amazing!

October 26th was a big day for Colby! It was the first day of attempting a schedule. He was very grumpy so we sat outside on the patio with him. He just loves going outside. The instant we do he stops crying (although you can see from the picture that he was still grumpy). This was also the first time we ever tried feeding him out of a bottle. He took to it like a champ and you would have never known that it was Jason's first time feeding a baby a bottle too. They both did great! Than we were off to bath time, as you can see by the rolls he is still being well fed! We weighed him on our bathroom scale...14 pounds!! Today we decided to try giving him a bath in the tub. He was spoiled in Colorado using Suska's sink (compared to the tiny one we have here!) so we decided to let him take a swim in the tub. He loved it...if only my back muscles could have held him there longer, he would have sat in there all day long!

Mr. Dimples

This was our best photo shoot ever. Colby was in a great mood. But his patience for pictures only lasted so long. This just shows you how fast he can transition from dream baby to cranky Colby!

Hello Daddy!

After a long journey that included a layover in Atlanta we arrived home safely. Colby was an angel on the plane but cried the whole way home in the car. Jason was very happy to see us. We are both so looking forward to the day when we can all move home and don't have to say goodbye to family or each other ever again.

Meeting the family!

Colby and Suska

I think my mom looks so pretty in this picture. Thanks to Sherri's suggestion we've decided Colby will call her Suska. I think it fits...she's too young, hot and hip to be called Grandmother!
And doesn't Colby look cute in his sweater vest? Thanks Spinder girls!!

SNOW!

You can't have a trip to Colorado without seeing snow and boy did we see snow! It was beautiful but so very cold. We took some pictures from inside church so they're a little dark but you get the picture.

Oh....and speaking of church. We weren't sitting down for more than 5 minutes when Colby made the loudest poop ever! It was not only loud but stinky too. In fact the two people that were sitting in front of us left a few minutes later...and they weren't even together!!! So embarassing.

Uncle Tyler

Uncle Tyler took such good care of Colby. By the end of the week he was actually wanting to hold him!

Cozy by the fire

As it was snowing outside Colby warmed up from his bath by the fireplace. He absolutely loved it! I wish we had one in NC (actually I wish we needed one! It's hard to want one when it's 86 degrees outside!). As you can tell by the rolls Colby continues to be a great little eater!

Evergreen

We drove up to Evergreen to watch Daniel play soccer. We came prepared for freezing cold weather and were pleasantly suprised when it was beautiful! We didn't even need jackets! Of course the next day it snowed (you can't predict anything in Colorado). We left Evergreen to go to Douglas County to watch Tyler's game. I don't know how my parents do it! Of course the boys were the stars of their teams. They are quite little athletes!

We love Aunt Laura!

Aunt Laura made a trip all the way down from the mountains to see us. We got

to go to dinner one night. Laura stayed an extra day in town to see us and I completely ruined those plans when I left my phone at home. I'm so sorry Laura! I wish we could have spent more time together! :(
