Deep Sea Diving with Chase...

It was my first day back at work today and it was painfully hard to leave the boys, especially Chase baby. Colby was a little spoiled in that I didn't return to 12 hour shifts until he was almost 7 months old. Chase just seems so little to be away from him for that period of time! When I got home (after giving him hundreds of kisses and snuggles of course) I gave him a bath in Bob's deep sink. He really enjoyed himself! The picture of relaxation...

I love overalls!

Nothing beats a little boy in overalls!
Boys in overalls are especially kissable!
I had to sneak this in, isn't he cute helping me with laundry? What a good boy!

Visiting Bob Bob

Bob was kind enough to make some copies and fax a few things for us so we brought the whole clan to visit her at work. Colby thinks Bob has the greatest job in the world...
Look at all of those buttons! Before she even knew what happened...Colby was putting her to work! He is good! Very sneaky!

This was Chase's first time visiting Grace, he clearly didn't find it as entertaining as Colby does...

The good ole' jumparoo

We busted out the old jumparoo the other day. Chase wasn't too sure what to think about it but it brought back lots of great old memories for Colby...
A perfect example of the deer in the headlights look from Chase baby
Colby was kindly demonstrating how the thing works to his little brother
We thought Colby might enjoy taking it for a spin but as you can see by his face he clearly preferred being on the outside...

Poor Jason...

Jason fell through this little chair Bob had in her basement. I am such a mean wife, I was laughing so hard I was crying. Instead of grabbing his hand to help him out I grabbed the camera...I'm such a mean wife!
Bummer...he finally got out, it sure was funny while it lasted!

Rub A Dub Dub

Colby is getting better at walking and will walk as many as 10-12 steps in a row but when he wants to get somewhere fast he will drop to his knees and take off crawling. This is what happens the instant he hears the bathwater being started. He is so fast that this is the only picture I was able to snap of his mad dash to the bathroom. That boy loves his baths!
Colby is such a great big brother, he still takes as many opportunities as he can get to give his brother some sugar. Chase adores the attention from Colby.
(you can see Colby's big chest muscles, that is the result of crawling for months on end!)The Hudnall family got the boys these adorable bath towels. Those thin baby towels are cute too but our boys are just too big to get any use out of them! Colby's looks like a monster and Chase's is a lion. I wanted to get a picture of the both of them but Colby moves too fast so here is Chase baby and his pretty blue eyes...

Chase Baby is 3 months old!

When my grandpa would smile really big he would close his eyes just like Chase. I think it is so special that he shares that he reminds me of my grandpa like that...So BIG!
Now that Chase is 3 months old here is a little update on his emerging personality...
Sleep
He doesn't last in his crib for very long but we're working on that. He still eats at least 3 times between 9pm and 6am. He is an early riser and as soon as I get out of bed he's awake. He takes what we call micronaps during the day - a few 15-20 minute snoozes here and there. He just doesn't require a lot of sleep to function like Colby did. Bummer!
Eating
He eats every 2-3 hours. But doesn't nurse for long periods of time. When he's done he's done (unlike Colby who would nurse as long as I would let him and as often as he could)
Personality
He is a really happy baby and he talks a lot! He likes to be held but also loves being able to lay on the ground and kick around. He doesn't love tummy time but doesn't hate it like Colby did. He giggles a lot and is especially ticklish on his chest and armpits
Size
Naked weight was 18.4 pounds! He is wearing size 3 diapers. He can still fit into some 3-6 month onsies but has to wear 6-9 month pants (due only to the waist size, he is not very long).

It feels like just yesterday that he joined our family. He makes us smile everyday. It's been especially fun to see the unique bond between him and Colby. I can't wait to see how their relationship will continue to grow. If his weight and size continue to increase like they have been he will outgrow his big brother very shortly! Colby is certainly going to get a run for his money!

The house hunting begins...

We looked at our first house today, let the adventure begin! The boys were nice enough to watch Colby in the car so we could run in and look with my parents and Bob. Colby thought it was awesome to hang with the big boys.
On top of that they all have cell phones so he was in absolute heaven!

Christmas at Pa John and Barbara's

The day after Christmas we went over to Pa John and Barbara's to celebrate with them. It was a great time. Here are a few of the pictures...
Chase had to get dressed up for the occasion - sweater vest and all!

This is such a cute picture of Colby and Barbara...Pa John and Barbara got Colby blocks for Christmas, he loves them! He couldn't wait until we got home to play with them so we had to bust them out in the middle of the kitchen...
All of the holiday excitement left Chase tuckered out,
he was asleep most of the time we were there...

Christmas Day!

I am so behind in my blogging!!! Here are the Christmas day photos...

There is a channel here in Colorado that plays Christmas music and has video of a fireplace so we had that on while we were opening presents. This picture cracks me up because it looks like
I planted Chase right in front of an open fireplace!
My two tired little boys on Christmas morning.
The holidays are stressful even for the little guys!
I have the best presents in the world, my precious little boys!
What more could I ask for?
Colby thought we should get the morning started off right with a sip of wine from the bottle we bought Bob, what a party animal!
I had to say no to the wine but who could resist this little boy when he's saying 'please' (in sign language) so he can have a bite of chocolate covered cherry?
Merry First Christmas Chase!
Colby played with Jason's phone the ENTIRE road trip and what do you know, all he wanted to play with Christmas morning was the cell phone, he wasn't interested in opening presents or playing with his new toys he just wanted to make a few calls...what will I do with that little boy?
Good thing he's cute!
After opening presents we went to Jason's grandma's house to hang out with his mom, brother and grandma...
Diane and Chase
Diane spoiled Colby and Chase rotten! Here he is playing with the baby ping pong game,
which he loved!
Oh no!!! Now Chase knows how to point!! Soon he'll be directing us around like Colby does!
What would a day be for Colby if he wasn't opening and closing every cabinet door he could get his hands on?
Colby just loved Chandler, Diane's kitty. Chandler was such a nice boy too, letting Colby pet him.
After eating at Diane's we went to my parents for ANOTHER meal, it was so delicious though that we just had to eat again!
Chase and Sami
Sandy and Sami were letting Colby hold Sami's phone while Sandy called it...
he thought that was fabulous!
Daniel and Bob
Despite all of the running around and lack of sleep Chase was in a great mood!
The lack of sleep did not look so good on his parents however who were beginning to get a little cranky...

All in all it was a fabulous Christmas!

Christmas Eve...

I know I'm a little late in posting these but here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve...

Colby, poor baby, woke up Christmas Eve morning with a fever (probably related to getting his I teeth in) so he was pretty quiet and clingy the whole day. He tried to make the best of it though!

It was a long day so by the time we got to Nonnie and Poppa's house Chase had had it. He was either crying (very loudly as anyone who was there could tell you) or sleeping. I was hoping to get a picture of him with Nonnie and Poppa but he was just such a bear that we didn't take too many of him at all!
Christmas at Nonnie and Poppa's, it is always so crazy and fun!
Thanks for having us Nonnie and Poppa!
Colby is just fascinated with hats, he played this game with Suska for quite some time!

Here is the one smile we were able to get out of Chase that night...
We also visited Jason's dad's side of the family that evening....
Jason and Alice and Colby
Colby was too clingy to sit on Grandpa Norman's lap...this was the best we could do...
Chase and Claudia
Colby was showing off his walking skills with Walt Sr.
Chase meeting Grandpa Norman for the first time...
