Bath Game...

Every night when bath time is over I hang the wash cloth over the faucet so it can dry. Now this has become an obstacle that Colby feels he must conquer. He will do this for hours! And when he gets it to balance on the faucet he is so pleased with himself. It is so fun to watch a baby's mind work!

My little tin man

Wow, we have certainly gotten our money out of this funnel. It provides countless hours of entertainment at bath time.

Bella TV

Bella and Maci spent the evening with us. It was so fun to spend some time with them and made watching Colby really easy. He didn't even touch his toys he was so occupied watching his cousin Bella. Bella was so occupied watching herself in the mirror that she hardly noticed, ahhhh to be a 3 1/2 year old!

Cool Dude

Aunty Mindy let Colby play with her sunnies, he knew exactly what to with them and he thought he looked like hot stuff!

Snuggles for Aunty Mindy

When Colby is in a really loving mood he'll lean in and put his forehead against yours. He was especially loving towards Aunty Mindy today!

Adventures at the Outlet Mall

We had to get a few things at the outlet mall. Suska totally spoiles Colby and doesn't make him stay in the stroller so he had a few little adventures...
Sitting like a big boy on the benchCrawling like a wild man on the lawn (he's not too crazy about grass yet! I wish it were a clearer day so you could see the mountains)

Drool King

I think we're done teething for awhile (I HOPE!) but it doesn't mean we can have a dry shirt! Colby is now very into blowing bubbles while he's talking. I wonder what he's thinking about, he sure is busy!

Suska's birthday visit

Suska and mommy weren't able to get together on Colby's birthday so she stopped by today to see the little one year old. She brought Colby's favorite puppies so he was thrilled! We were out on the patio when Colby saw a peach and pointed at it. Suska handed it to him and he started chowing down like he has been eating them whole all along! He sure did make a mess though! (At least he didn't try to put it on his head!)

One Year Well Check...

Colby's one year well check went well, he weighs 24.05 pounds (that puts him in the 65th percentile), he is 29 and a half inches (45th percentile) and his head is 46 1/4 cm (the 50th percentile). He thoroughly enjoyed this trip to the doctor and got lots of attention from the staff! The whole appointment was spent with me frantically trying to keep him from crawling away, opening the cabinets and getting into the trash. You can bet we thoroughly sanitized our hands when we were done!

Colby Miranda

I have no idea what posessed Colby to put these peaches on his head, I think it's impressive...eventually he was able to get 6 slices of peach to balance on his little head, now that's talent!

Happy First Birthday Little One!

Today was Colby's 1st Birthday! I can't believe it! His actual birthday was a very scary time for us, shortly after he was born he was rushed to the newborn ICU where he stayed for 3 days related to oxygenation problems. This birthday was much more relaxed and enjoyable, if only daddy could have been here with us to celebrate! He has grown into such a happy and healthy little man. He is the greatest thing that's ever happened to us and we feel completely blessed.

The birthday morning started out with some oatmeal and banana and some mangos
(Colby's favorite!)
We are trying to learn how to use a fork, it would really help with the stickiness factor! Colby thinks it's an awesome addition to meal time!Colby has started to point, he loves having a way to manipulate his environment! I love it because it's easier to know what he wants. Next we went to the park with our neighbors. It was super hot but that didn't make swinging any less fun for Colby!Than we spent some time exploring grass, he's not a fan of it yet.His birthday present from mom and dad was a new stroller. He of course was completely satisfied with the box it came in...He did seem to like the new ride!He thinks he looks like hot stuff! We went to visit Grandma Diane at her work. Colby had a fabulous lunch of eggs, yogurt, potatoes and a muffin. All of that birthday celebrating wears a little guy out! It was nap time. He is pretty congested so you can see he's sleeping with his mouth wide open, poor baby!Next we decided to play with some bubbles...
Mindy bought him a cool hippo toy that blows bubbles, Colby was petrified of it!Aunty Mindy and mommy had more fun with the bubbles than Colby did...That's his 'I'm trying to be brave but I'm really not feelin' it' smile
Dinner was some delicious blueberries, yogurt and some pasta... Yummy!

-He sleeps through the night!!!! WAHOO!
-He loves to give kisses and snuggles
-He loves to go bye bye and hates being stuck in the house

See Food

Colby was super silly tonight and everything that I did he thought was hillarious. I'm not even sure what he was laughing at here but it made me laugh! Who is his mother and why hasn't she told him to laugh with his mouth closed when it's full of food?!

Tornado Video

Here is a video I took of the tornado, sorry it is facing the wrong direction, you can get the point though

Hanging out on Birthday Eve

Colby never watches TV but was temporarily entertained by the closing ceremonies of the olympics (I was too, it was weird!) He just used Bob Bob as a little back rest. The evening wouldn't be complete if there wasn't some time spent by Colby playing with random toys, here he is with hangers...

Bath time...

This is Colby's last bath as an 11 month old! The sky looked so ominous behind him...

My little peach lover...

One of the neighboors had an overflowing peach tree and asked if we would be interested in any peaches. Little does she know we are a fruit crazy family! Colby LOVES peaches, he ate 5 entire ones! He didn't even get a tummy ache because he's used to eating tons of fruit... (Sorry about the red eyes in this picture, that is the price you pay when you have pretty blue/green eyes and there is a bright flash!)

Tornado!!!!

Bob and I were sitting on the patio last night enjoying the sound of rolling thunder and the beautiful clouds when she noticed something that looked suspicious, this was one of the two tornados that hit the city we live in. Fortunately it hit a really unpopulated area so there was very little damage and no injuries. It sure was exciting though, I've never seen anything like it before! The really crazy thing is that just the day before Jana and I were talking about tornados and she had mentioned how she always wanted to see one. I'm sorry Jan! Hope these pictures make you feel like you were there!
