Air Force Academy

Just arriving at the Air Force Academy. The views are just breathtaking!

Colby in his handsome hat (we had to take it off before long because it kept blowing away!)
Kisses from Suska (I love how her hat says 'Life is Good')
Playing some fun games with Suska

Pretty blue eyes (thanks for those Daddy!)

My athlete brother, Tyler...

One of the pretiest soccer fields I've ever seen!

Feeling the grass for the first time

The Turco/Weber family! In Colorado Springs, CO the Air Force Academy is positioned right in the mountains. It is beautiful. It has been a really long time since I was there so when I got cancelled from work and my brother had a soccer tournament there we jumped on the chance to go. It was gorgeous! Of course Colby was in a grumpy mood so getting a smile out of him was like pulling teeth but we managed a few and Tyler played wonderfully! Their team won! Daniel had just arrived from a busy day of soccer and baseball. At his game he scored a goal and at his baseball game he hit a homerun! It was a great day for sports for the Turco boys! After the game Colby sat on the grass, that was quite the experience (he's never had bare legs on grass before!)

Colby's Third Word

Colby first said 'Bob Bob' than he said 'Da Da' (which I've been trying to capture on video for weeks now!) and now he says 'Mom Mom' I think it is a fun word for him to say because he says it a lot and each time he does my heart just melts. He's definately got me wrapped around his finger!

New Teeth!

It's been pretty hot here (that is completely relatively speaking compared to North Carolina and Iraq though!) so one of Colby's favorite ways to cool off is to hop in the tub (why we have so many bath pictures). I just love his smile and check out those teeth!

Bathtime Conversation

Here is Colby in the tub after enjoying that delicious cookie. He also has his towel that he pulled in there with him. He had quite a lot to say! He enjoys chewing on his thumb occassionally but is still not into pacifiers or thumb sucking.

9 Month Well Check

Colby had a blast at the doctor's office this morning. He loved all of the attention he got from the people there! He didn't even cry when they poked his toe, he just smiled at the girls. What a doll. He weighed 20 pounds and 9 ounces and was 28 inches long. He's in the 50th percentile for height and weight, if you can believe it! He enjoyed the tongue depressors that the doctor gave him so much he carried them with him all the way to the car and fell asleep with them in his hands. Overall it was a successful trip. I was worried they would be concerned he wasn't crawling but she said he is advanced in his communication skills and that when kids are advanced in one area another (gross motor) tends to be placed on the back burner. She also said he seems to be a really laid back and easy going baby who is content to watch the world from a distance. I'm not worried anymore, I'm just enjoying these last few days of immobility!

So Big!

We were on our way to the Colby's 9 month well check and I decided to take a picture of him in his car seat so Daddy can see how much he's grown. He is SO heavy to carry in that thing!

Those long arms!

I thought I had put his towel well out of reach when he was in the tub but before I knew what happened he had the whole thing in the water with him! His arms are longer than I realized!

Dinner Time Fun

I found some organic crackers for Colby and he seemed to enjoy those too, although he made such a mess I had to put him straight into the tub! He even had crumbs in his eyelashes!

Dinner time fun

Colby is so much fun at dinner time. I decided to take a few videos tonight so Jase could feel like he was a part of our family dinner. Colby has now figured out how to put the cracker in his mouth and he really enjoys that...boy does he make a mess!!! Enjoy Daddy! We can't wait till you're here to have dinner with us again!

More Dinner Video...

Visit from Grandpa Weber and Uncle Garret

Grandpa Weber was in town so he stopped by to say hi along with Garret. Colby really enjoyed their company and was passing out the smiles!

Uncle D is so good to Colby!

Uncle D just loves to take care of his little nephew. So when the third grade was having their end of the year class auction to use all of the 'dollars' they earned when they were well behaved Daniel decided to invest his money in a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal for Colby, he also got him a bracelet and Donkey from Shrek. I asked him if the other kids were making fun of him for getting all this baby stuff but he told me they weren't, everyone knew it was for his "baby nephew". He's so thoughtful. And Colby certainly has enjoyed his gifts!

Naughty Suska!

I have been meticulous about feeding Colby only organic food in which I have studied the label and determined it to be acceptable. Only to be horrified when my mom gave Colby non-organic graham crackers!!! Do you know what is in those things?! But he was enjoying them so much I couldn't bear to take them away. Oh well...what can you do!

Aunty Cindy's Wedding

Aunty Cindy's highly anticipated wedding day finally arrived and she looked absolutely radiant. It was a spectacular ceremony and the reception was perfect too. It was great weather and great company our family really enjoyed the Schroeder family (who came in town from Kentucky). Congratulations to the new Mrs. Roger Schroeder!
My aunt and Roger with Bob (my grandma) and all of my aunts and uncles

Two of the three flower girls (Annie and Brooke) they looked like little princesses in their gowns with the flowers in their hair...

My family - my mom (Susie), my dad (Jeremiah), my littlest brother (Daniel) and my oldest brother (Tyler)...Didn't they look handsome in their pinstripes?!

My mom and me and of course little Colby (so handsome in his three piece suit!)

You can't have a wedding without lots of kisses, of course Jason couldn't be there so Colby had to be the man of the house and give his mommy lots of kisses. What a special little boy I have. I don't know how I would have gotten this far through the deployment without him!

Colby and Papa, who just loves to make him laugh!

My cousin Sandi has been watching Colby since she's been home from school. It is so awesome, she spends the night here the night before I work so I don't have to leave quite so early. She is GREAT with Colby too. The only problem is that they look so similar people are going to start thinking she's his mommy!

The reception was at the Wildlife Expirence. I've never been there before but it was beautiful. And during the cocktail hour we were allowed to wander through the museum, it was Colby's first museum and I think he enjoyed it!

Colby wasn't too sure what to think of the mountain lion...

...But he did totally dig this giant monkey statue!

Colby getting down on the dance floor with Suska, Papa and Patrick. He LOVES to dance (can you tell?)
Tuckered out after all of the weekend's activities...

Colby's first trip to Breckenridge

At the last minute we were invited to go show some of the Schroeder family Breckenridge. It ended up taking a lot longer to get up there than we had planned so we hurried and ate at Eric's and turned right back around to get back in time for the wedding rehersal. We barely made it! Jason and I have made many fun memories together in Breck. I can't wait till he's home and we can make even more memories as a family.

Bath Giggles

Here is some proof of how fun Colby will be in the pool, he loves to be splashed!

Bath Seat Fun

The joy of bathtime never ends for Colby Joshua! He sits in there until the water is cold! The swimming pool will be so much fun this summer. In a few of these pictures you can see his top teeth. I call him my T-Rex!

New Baby!

Here is a peek for Daddy (finally!) Mindy was able to scan in the pictures so I could post them. It will be Jason's first look at the new baby.

New Baby Profile...

Colby's Profile...

New Baby Boy Parts...

Colby's boy parts...

We had our 20 week ultrasound on May 8th. It went well, the baby looks very healthy and is in the 86th percentile for weight. And....Colby is going to have a baby brother! Can you believe I am going to be the mom of two boys? Wow...God truly has a sense of humor! We got some good pictures of the baby's profile and I wanted to compare them to Colby's. They already look so alike. Jason and I haven't decided yet if we're going to do the 3D ultrasound. It is crazy to see the comparison of the two boys though.
