Downtown Castle Rock...

It was a beautiful fall day and Jenny came over so we decided to take the boys to downtown Castle Rock. The highlight was definitely riding the horse and carriage...

Colby refused to let go, he didn't quite trust this horsey...
Chasey thought it was great!

Some pretty fall leaves...
I was trying to get some cute outdoor pictures of the boys but
they are moving targets these days!

Now that Chasey is One..

We put his carseat in and it's forward facing! While no one as excited as Jason was, Chase seemed to be enjoying himself...

We had a big day, Chasey's well check today and both boys ended up getting shots. As a reward for being such good boys we gave them a bath in the jacuzi tub...
Happy Baby!
What is with kids drinking the bath water? Yuck!
Another big smile from Chasey...
Here Chase was giving Colby a few brotherly pats on the back...

Chasey Turns One!!!

Here are some of the pictures from the BIG GIANT first birthday party...

Now that our little Chase Baby is one I thought I would give an update on what is going on in his world...
Size: He wears mostly 12 month clothes now, 18 month pants work if I can roll the waist band.
Speech: He says, mama, dada and up. He signs for drink (and if that doesn't work he'll crawl over to the fridge and hang on it and whine until we get the hint), milk, help, please and more.
Teeth: He still has 4 on top and 4 on bottom
Motor: The day before his birthday he took 6 steps and everyday he gets a little more brave. It requires a lot of encouragement though! He still much prefers to crawl. He climbs on everything! He loves going up the stairs and now he knows how to go down the stairs too. Hooray! He can climb into the bathtub and the dryer.
Likes: He loves to be held, loves milk, loves string cheese and watermelon. He loves playing with or near Colby, loves to be outside, loves phones (and makes any object into a pretend phone), loves the remotes, enjoys being in the car, still loves his paci (but only uses it for naps, bedtime and long car rides), loves taking baths.
Dislikes: Wow...I have been sitting here for a couple of minutes trying to think of something he doesn't like and nothing is coming to mind! He's such an easy going baby, we are so blessed!

I can't believe it's been a year. I had no idea how we would do it with another baby so soon but Chase has been just what our family needed. It blows my mind to think that our family, our marriage, even Colby, we were all designed with the plan of Chase's arrival in mind. We were all designed to be what Chase needed and he is exactly what we needed too. He is such a happy, loving and easy baby. He is active and energetic and very smart. He is a joy to be around and has really enhanced all of our lives more than I could have ever imagined. We love you Chasey and we're so lucky to be your family!

Another Snowy Day...

Chasey wanted to touch the snow so we let him sit on the deck for just a second, fortunately it wasn't too chilly. He thought it was fabulous! The flakes were giant, he got such a kick out of it.

Back inside...I found both boys sitting in the bucket, this wasn't set up at all! They climbed in together all on their own!

Here Colby is 'trying on' the Mr. Potato head parts and Chase is using them as a phone...
With halloween right around the corner we've been on the hunt for a cute costume, this one looked really cute on the rack and was a 3T size but we could barely get it zipped up and when we did it was about 3 inches too short. Colby was a good sport about it though and kept it on for a few pictures...

Chasey's Big Boy Car Seat...

I'm pretty sure Jason was more excited about Chasey's big boy car seat than even Chase was. Jason could hardly wait to face Chase forward. I can't believe it's already that time, he's grown so fast!!!

Of course the boys were having a blast with the box.
Here, Colby is using it as a cup holder next to his chair, so inventive!

Chase is test 'driving' so to speak, of course

Snowy September Day...

Anything can happen weather wise in Colorado in September, hot days to freezing blizzards. Today we had our first snow!

Chasey got a package from Rose, as you can see he could hardly wait to open it...
I was going to make him wait until his birthday but he was so excited I couldn't help myself...
The computer was such a hit with both boys! It wasn't working but the boys didn't care, they still played with it all afternoon. (Don't worry Rose, we exchanged it a couple of days later and we're in business with one that works! Thanks, what an awesome gift!)

Sunday Pics...

Got to love boys in polo shirts!
Good thing we bought Chasey his own chair, we're waiting for his birthday to unveil it!
The boys are constantly finding new ways to play with this bucket...
Good thing our coffee table came with built in drawers! This is where the boys keep their cars, the coffee table miraculously becomes a parking lot for cars, trucks and tractors!
Happy Chasey...

Playtime...

Here is what a typical day looks like at our house...

Chasey, our wild man, climbing on something...
Coloring...
(I know, what crazy mom would give her 1 and 2 year old a marker?!)

Some drinking and driving...
Throwing...
(Colby loves playing ball, he always holds them like this and says, "shoot!" and than throws them, we can thank Suska, Poppa and uncles for teaching Colby about basketball)
Sitting cross-legged, Chase ALWAYS sits like this...
Trying on potato head pieces...
Snuggling with daddy while drinking some delicious milk...
More climbing...
More cross-legged sitting...
Giggling...
Playing with daddy...
That along with taking out every single toy we own and pots and pans, climbing in cabinets, climbing up and down stairs, eating and a little napping pretty much sums up our days!

Cookin' Weber Boy Style...

Despite all the toys the boys have nothing beats some pots and pans and kitchen tools...
Colby was cracking me up, every time he hit the bowl he closed his eyes. In this picture you can see Chase doing the same...

When I ask Colby what he's making he always replies, "soup" or "coffee, delicious!"

Chasey Shoppin'

Happy Fella!
Chase loves this cart because he can walk with it, I have a feeling he'll be walking by Halloween!

Nothing like a view from behind, got to love those little leggies. Jason asks if we can put pants on Chase when he wears these outfits but I love to let his chunky legs hang out!
My boys just love this shopping cart (thanks Hartman family!). Not a day goes by that I don't hear the cart say, "Let's go shopping!" Who would have thought two little boys love to shop, they definitely take after their mom!
