Chasey is 16 Months Old!
I can't believe he is almost one and a half years old. Time has flown!!! Chase is growing and changing daily. The most exciting thing he's doing now is talking. He says a new word almost daily. He continues to be his happy little self. He is a great younger brother and puts up with Colby tugging on him and dragging him around. He is also patient when Colby tries to be sneaky and slip a toy out of Chasey's hand and replace it with a less exciting toy. I weighed him and he weighs 28.5 pounds. He is a big boy and has a heart to match. How we love this little boy!
It's The Little Things...
Life is hectic, especially with two active little boys. But it is always exciting. The boys keep me on my toes and keep me humble, they always keep me laughing. Here are a few examples...
We were packing away Christmas lights (Jason finally braved getting on the roof to take them off). I was meticulously winding them up and placing them perfectly into the tupperware. I was winding the last of the strands and I turned to look into the box and there were my two little angels. Sitting in the box like it was placed there for them. Unwinding the lights with such enthusiasm it was as if I had designed a 'toy' for them to play with. I couldn't help but smile.
Or when Chasey toddled over to me to give me what I thought was a kiss...and bit my lip instead and than laughed with a belly chuckle.
Or when I announce it's bathtime and Colby asks if he can, "Hold the bubbles" and than spends at least a half an hour filling up the empty bubble container with water and saying, "Come bubbles" And than pouring it out and saying, "Yeah Bubbles!"
And when Colby lifted up his own shirt and said, "Goodbye clothes, hello button!" (referring to his belly button)
When I tell Colby that mommy needs to take a shower and he asks, his voice dripping with excitement, "Play hangers?!!!!" (Colby has been obsessed with hangers since he was 6 months old, for months I drove around with one in my car!)
Or how the boys spend HOURS climbing into the cabinets together, or playing hide and go seek in our closet behind the sweatshirts that are hanging on the lowest rod, Chasey still small enough that he is the height of the sweatshirt and Colby's little blonde head peeking out a bit.
Or when Jason asked Colby if he wanted to go bye bye and Colby responded, "Go to potle (ie: Chipotle) get something to eat!"
And when Chasey ran up to me in the kitchen yesterday announcing, "Thithy (how he says kitty) with a huge grin on his face pointing to a picture of a kitten in a book.
How Chasey thinks that anything that is round is a ball! He sees the potential for anything to be thrown, our little athlete!
How Colby asks me to sing Christmas songs and Bible songs all the time.
When Chasy lays his head down on my shoulder with his bear tucked under his arm, breathing on the inside of my neck with his little sighs.
How Colby has a name for all of his blankies, my favorite one being "toot".
When Colby says, "Goodnight Mommy, I lub you" as I'm tucking him in at night...
And...when he points to a 60 year old lady's picture in an obituary and announces proudly, "That's Mommy!"
Ahhhh...being a mom, that's what it's all about.

Fancy Date Night...
Jason and I had an amazing date night thanks to Aunty Cindy and Uncle Roger. They got us a gift certificate to Brooks Steakhouse and offered to watch the boys! What an evening! It was a perfect way to celebrate Jason's birthday (his birthday was the 22nd, his very first on the road as a cop - what a stressful birthday!)The food was mouth watering (I had the tuna steak and could eat it everyday!) and the boys had a blast! They are still talking about the fun they had and Uncle Roger must have made an especially big impression because Colby has now named one of his semi trucks in his honor...Roger the truck. Thank you so much! We love you guys!

Jason is 27 Years Old...
I thought I would do an update on Jason like I do for the boys...
It has been so exciting to watch Jason grow this year! Here are a few updates on what he's doing...
Size - He wears mostly medium shirts and large pants (Sweats, I have no clue what his jean size is). He is 5'11'' tall and weighs 170 pounds.
Motor - He still hates running but he is good at it, he will run a PFT (physical fitness test) in the beginning of next month but I'm sure he'll do great. He has gotten really good at pull ups and can do a ton. He also kicks my bootie in plyometrics and in P90X in general. He loves the Honda Pilot we bought last year and considers that his car (he always felt the CR-V was a little girly). We recently got new Colorado, Marine Corps license plates. (I'm sure most people don't care but I thought this information would fit nicely into the motor section!)
Cognitive - He knows how to talk, just chooses not to most of the time. He is his quiet, collected, cool, confident self.
Likes - He loves the Rockies and wants to buy season tickets, he loves the Broncos (and always will, no matter how they do), he also likes Josh McDaniels. He still loves hockey but hasn't been to any games lately although he did go to my cousin's game last month and had a blast. He loves being fit and working out (once he gets started). He also loves beer and rum and coke. He loves playing college football and call of duty on X-Box, and I'm pretty sure he won the Heisman this year. He likes listening to sports talk radio (he IS getting old, huh?). He loves the Marine Corps. He loves spending time with his boys and of course, his wonderful wife.
Dislikes - Waking up, he loves sleeping in. Overall though he is a pretty easy going guy. Work is tough for him, the same routine over and over again, but he's getting through...one long 10 hour shift at a time.
Overall he is a pretty fantastic guy if I do say so myself. Infact I think I'll keep him for another year or so!
I love you Jc. Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Jason!!!
Jason had a super lame birthday this year. We both had to work so he was up at 6am with Colby (hard to do the morning after working until midnight!). Despite my schooling Colby that it was going to be daddy's birthday and to tell daddy 'Happy Birthday' in the morning, he said nothing. Instead when Jason asked him, "Who's birthday is it today Colby?" Colby replied, "Santa's" Needless to say Jason needed a night out to celebrate. We went to his favorite Mexican restaurant and were joined by his mom and brother (Unc, as Colby calls him). The food was awesome, and our waitress was super nice. Jason's mom mentioned that it was Jason's birthday so when a bunch of the wait staff came over to sing I wasn't surprised. It was, however, a shock when one of the waitresses seductively fed Jason a bite of the fried ice cream!! We were all in shock. I didn't know if I should laugh or beat her up! Jason got a kick out of it and that's the important thing. He even said, "They didn't do that last time!" Here are a few pics...

Colby's Big Boy Bed!!!
I was determined not to even try Colby in a big boy bed but when he broke his crib I didn't have much of a choice. It ended up being no big deal! He does really well, hasn't fallen out yet, and stays in his room even with the door open. Now that he's in his big boy bed I feel like he's so grown up. I told Jason, all we have left is potty training and than college! It's amazing how fast they grow up. Chasey was very excited about Colby's big boy bed too, I could hardly get him out of it! The picture on top is how I found Colby the very first time he took a nap in his new bed, it looked like he was really enjoying himself!
