Starting on Sunday Colby woke up with a runny nose and fever. Chase had a super high fever on Monday and Tuesday so were were up all night giving him Tylenol. (Poor Jason, I had to wake him up from the dead of sleep and ask him to get the tylenol. In his sleepy stupor he spilled the tylenol all over the carpet and furniture. We now know that tylenol is the stickiest substance known to mankind!) Tuesday evening Colby fell and cut open his bottom lip (his teeth went through the inside of it and he got a good cut on the outside), it was the bloodiest injury he's had yet. By Wednesday Chase's fever had gone away but the congestion was just awful. I must have suctioned him 15 times that night. Than on Thursday evening Colby woke up from his nap with a jagged front tooth again. The filling fell out for the second time! It didn't seem to be bothering him though so I thought we were in for a good night of sleep. Jason went to a friend's house for a little guy time. I put Colby down at 7:30 and Chase down at 9:00. I went to bed at 10:00. At midnight Chase was up to be fed, I got him back down around 12:30. At 1:50am Colby started shrieking out in pain. I tried everything but couldn't figure out what was causing him such pain. He was writhing and crying. It was awful. Jason got home around 2 and was shocked to see Chase sleeping quietly in his crib and Colby trying to get comfortable in bed with me. We tried giving him a bottle, reading him stories, laying down with him, rocking him, letting him play (what do you know...he chose to play with the popcorn poper, the LOUDEST toy he owns. He started pushing it and just started bawling again), even feeding him, nothing worked. Finally at 2:45am I had to put him in his crib and let him cry. He finally grew quiet and fell asleep around 3...just about the time Chase woke up to be fed again. Colby had another crying episode at 4am and again at 6 when I finally just got up with him. He was super uncomfortable this morning but has taken two really long naps and seems to be getting better this afternoon. The challenges are never ending and we're definitely sleep deprived but I still wouldn't trade being a mom for anything in the world!
Here are a few pictures of Colby's banged up lip. It is looking much better than it did. I haven't taken any new ones since he lost the filling though, his whole mouth just looks like a wreck now.

Chase is 4 Months Old!
I can't believe he is 4 months old already! Here are a few pictures...
Chase Baby Update...
Vital Info: He now weighs 19.4 pounds!!! Yup! He's sure a big boy. He wears size 3 or 4 diapers (lately we've just been putting him in 4's because that is what Colby wears and it just makes things easier). He wears 6-9 month clothes and 3-6 month onsies.
Motor Skills: He is pretty strong and can hold his own weight when you hold his hands out and help him stand. He has rolled over once but that was because I was tickling him, he hasn't done it since. He does squirm around a lot though. I notice now when I leave him on the floor to kick around he can spin himself around with his legs. He can sit up very briefly but only because he has such nice rolls to lean on. He loves the exersaucer and hop-and-pop but hasn't figured out the jumparoo yet. His fine motor skills are improving rapidly. Everything within reach goes into his mouth (something I am not used to because Colby never put anything in his mouth!). He is getting very good at reaching out and grabbing on to toys.
Sleep: He is a power napper. If he dozes off for 5 minutes and than wakes up he'll be up for 2 or 3 hours! He has gotten a little better at sleeping in his crib though, he'll usually stay there from 9:00-midnight after that it's hit or miss because I usually fall asleep with him. He usually wants to feed again at 2am and than 4 or 4:30am. He's usually up around 6 or so.
Eating: He is still a champion nurser (as evidenced by his LARGE size!). He doesn't nurse for comfort like Colby did though, he'll eat than get on with his day. And when I'm at work he takes a bottle really well for Jason, usually eating about 12 ounces in a day

Colby is 17 months old!
Weight - 26.4 pounds
Size - 12-18 month clothes, size 4 diapers
Sleep - Depends on the day and his mood but most days he only takes one nap around 12:00-2:30 pm and than he'll go to bed at 7 and sleep until 7 or 7:30 in the morning.
Eating - He loves anything sweet and is a big fruit eater (except for strawberries, he must get this from Bob, and oranges) but he also loves veggies too, he will try just about anything but doesn't have a huge appetite anymore. He is just figuring out how to use utensils which makes mealtime super fun and extra messy!
Likes - He is still weirdly obsessed with cell phones and will play with real ones for hours. If a real one isn't available he'll make due with anything and pretend it's a phone (shoes, hangers, clothes, toys, they all can magically transform into cell phones when Colby has ahold of them), he is a button addict and will do anything in his power to get his hands on anything with buttons (computers are the ultimate goal but he enjoys remote controllers, TV's, VCR's, stereos, ect.) He has been really into his little tractor that makes animal noises lately. He also loves seeing real animals and imitating their noises too (he can make kitty, pig, bear/dinosaur/tiger (anything that looks scary, Colby has figured out, will roar) and duck noises. He has also discovered how to unscrew lids, even childproof bottles aren't safe in Colby's hands!
Dislikes - When he's not allowed to touch buttons and lately he has become really independant so he will sometimes throw a fit if you make him hold his hand but usually he's pretty good about holding hands. He is always sad when bath time is over.
Motor Skills - He is FINALLY walking!!! He is still working on figuring how to get up to standing from a crawling position. He has gotten up from his knees one time. He will occassionally walk on his knees trying to get up to a standing position. He still crawls if he needs to get somewhere in a hurry though. He has mastered walking backward and does this to manuver himself into my lap and he can walk in circles too!
Speech - he says: ma ma, da da, Bob Bob, Dan Dan, Cracker, Hanger (yes, he has such an obsession with hangers that he has a word for them!), Nana (for banana). He signs: all done, more, milk, eat, drink, please, thank you. And of course uses his pointer finger followed by a loud grunt/whine to get anything he hasn't yet discovered the word or sign for.

Here he is taking a ride in the Hudnall's Tonka truck, little boys and trucks!
(he wasn't feeling good this day so I wasn't able to get a smile out of him)

Happy Birthday Jc!
Jason's birthday was really something to celebrate this year. He spent one birthday at boot camp, one in the field, and one in Iraq. We will never take simple days like this for granted anymore. Here are a few pictures from his special day and from the celebration at his mom's house the following day...
Chase and Jason with his Baskin Robbins birthday cake
(Colby was too pooped to celebrate)
Jason's birthday present to himself...his Marine Corps tatooCelebrating with the Weber's. As you can see Colby was ready to rock and roll for this celebration and even managed to get a handful of cake!
This was Jason's Aunt Karen and Uncle Mike's first time meeting Chase

The greatest sink ever...
Silly Dan Dan
Colby just adores Dan Dan. Watching these videos I can see why, he's pretty entertaining!
Boys will be boys...
I just love little boys in overalls and today I found a pair for Chase baby to wear.
The boys took such nice pictures together...
We took some very nice pictures together and than Colby turned into a wild man. I put Chase on the floor for some tummy time and suddenly Colby was on the floor trying to roll over him!! Chase as you can see isn't too thrilled by this new game Colby has invented...Colby just couldn't keep his hands off of Chase, he wasn't trying to be mean he was just trying to play but poor little Chase baby wanted no part of this...
Maybe Colby has a future in health care, he is attempting compressions! Poor, poor Chase, it is rough being the little brother!
The rate Chase is growing though he won't put up with this from Colby for much longer!

Finally walking!
These videos were actually taken on January 1st. It looks like Colby made a New Year's resolution of his own and finally decided it was time to start walking. I will take some more today, it's amazing how much he's improved in two weeks. He hasn't figured out how to get to standing from sitting without pulling himself up so in the meantime he crawls to the nearest object he can pull himself up on but other than that he walks everywhere!

Boys, boys, boys...
Here are a few pictures we've taken of the boys together, it is quite a job to get them to both sit still long enough. But here they are...
My little blue eyed boys
All of that photography wears a little guy out! As evidenced by Chase crashing on this chair...Jason wasn't quite as successful a few days later (these were taken while I was at work). Chase's expression in these pictures makes me laugh...
What is his hand doing on my head?!
Chase is saying...get me outta here! While Colby is acting cool as a cucumber...
