Jason checked out for terminal leave on the 15th. It is such a big deal, the end to his time in the Marine Corps. I don't think it's quite hit him yet. It took us awhile to get the car packed up but we managed to get out of New Bern by 12:30pm. We spent last night in Winston Salem, North Carolina and drove through Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and are now spending the night in Indiana. I've taken tons of pictures along the way and will post them as soon as I get a chance. Tomorrow we're hoping to make it to Raytown, Missouri to stay with one of my best friends from college (the one and only Anna Wiley) opened up her home to us and we just might take her up on her offer. The hardest part has been getting Colby to go to sleep in the hotel room (he is used to having his own room). It would also be wonderful to get to spend some time with her and meet her new little boy, Noah. If we're feeling really ambitious we'll go from Raytown to home on Thursday. So far the boys have been rockstars. Colby has stayed quite content reading books and watching an occassional Baby Einstein dvd (it's the first time he's ever watched a dvd in his life). Chase has been great, nursing every time we stop (every 3-4 hours) and than sleeping in the car. Praise the Lord for good kiddos! The weather has been decent, just some rain. It was pouring so hard we could barely see out the windshield earlier today but Jason is a good driver so I didn't have to worry. Thank you for all of your prayers. We are slowly but surely getting closer to home!!!
