Touch a Truck...

As soon as I heard about the Touch a Truck event coming to Colorado Springs I knew we had to take the boys.

Chasey settled in for the long drive. We knew we had arrived by the constant sound of horn honking. Apparently the kids don't just get to sit in the trucks they have unlimited access to honking the horn and who could resist a button like that?

The green cement truck in the background made quite the impression and was a favorite for my boys. Chasey waited patiently in line with daddy for his turn at the wheel.

Future cement truck driver?

Sitting on any part of the truck provided equal satisfaction, especially for Chasey who is always up for a photo opportunity.

See the two trash truck drivers? No better team than the Weber boys!

Trash trucks are not just a favorite for Colby they are an obsession!

Running down the tow truck ramp was quite the adventure too!

Who wouldn't love an enthusiastic smile like this when you're boarding the bus?

Chasey and Colby got to tour the swat "bear" (as it's known in Aurora) with daddy.

Colby loved riding shot gun in the Bear.

Another friendly bus driver! You can't help but smile when you see those dimples!

Always a favorite...the fire engine.

Waiting in line was even an adventure, surrounded by these big machines...it's a little boys' dream!

Colby says he wants to be a trash truck driver when he grows up. I think he'd be great at it!

Our little fire chief! I'm pretty sure Jason would prefer the boys grow up to be trash truck drivers over firemen!

Colby in the giant crane. I had no idea those things are so big!

Chasey in the giant crane.

Colby looks like a natural behind the wheel of a tractor!

Kind of crazy to see how large the "scooper" (as it's referred to in the Weber household) is on this tractor.

Colby wanted to give the UPS truck a try too. Brought back memories of Jason's package handling helper days for UPS.

The ambulance was a cool surprise and definitely my favorite truck!

Overall it was a great day, not exactly a way Jason and I would have picked to spend a day but it was so worth it seeing the boys' smiles. Having boys has really broadened my world. The things that excite them are completely new to me. My favorite part of being a mom is seeing that excitement and feeding into it. I appreciate the joy they find in the simple things, sitting in a driver's seat, honking a horn, running down a tow truck ramp. Being a boy mom is awesome.
