Colby was up all night on Wednesday night crying and inconsolable. And Thursday morning his fever was back. I took him to the pediatrician who took one look at him and was very concerned. He was lethargic and noticeably uncomfortable. The checked his oxygen and noticed it was a little low, in combination with his terrible cough they decided to give him a nebulizer treatment... 7 minutes of torture for Colby and me. He hated it! They noticed he had a really bad ear infection, than they listened to him and noticed a new murmur. They decided to send us over for a chest x-ray and called a cardiologist to set up an appointment. After spending almost 2 hours at the pediatricians office we went over to a different building for a chest x-ray. We waited and waited and waited. The actual x-ray took less than a minute but they held us hostage in the waiting room for close to two hours. Just as I was getting ready to walk out (out of frustration!) wondering what X-rays the radiologist was reading (since we were the only ones in the waiting room) Colby threw up all over! Part of me was horrified, the other part of me was thinking...maybe NOW the radiologist will read that X-ray! It worked, less than 5 minutes later the X-ray was read. It showed some inflammation in his lungs and some air trapping so we will just keep a close eye on him. We have an appointment with the cardiologist on the 24th of this month. Colby heard me telling my mom and grandma about his eventful day and now when we ask how his ears feel he'll say, "ears feelin' good, I have a murmur." Guess he's aware of more than I realized! He is feeling and looking much better. The only thing we're still dealing with is sleeping problems. He has been such a good sleeper but ever singe he's been sick he has had a hard time falling asleep and wakes up at least three times a night. It has been an exhausting month to say the least!
