Fateful Day...

We decided to have a few people over for dinner one Monday night. It ended up being quite the day...Colby loves being outside so while we were getting ready he was on the patio with us, of course wherever he goes the car follows.
While we don't condone drinking and driving Colby did it anyway....

Shortly after I took that picture Colby was playing on the patio and leaned on the baby gate. For some reason it gave away and he fell down the stairs. It was the most awful few seconds of my life. Watching him tumble down those stairs and being completely helpless to stop him was an awful feeling. Amazingly he just had a few bruises. I was shaken up long after he had gotten over it. Needless to say he's not allowed on the patio anymore!

While we were finishing dinner Colby and Uncle Garret had some male bonding time.
Here they are pounding it...
Colby is at an age where he demands so much attention that sometimes Chase gets overlooked. He thoroughly enjoyed all the attention he got from the pretty girls!
The party really didn't begin until Chase's pants came off. The girls just can't get enough of those chunky little legs!
That evening as we got the boys ready for a bath Colby got really affectionate towards his brother. It's so cute how loving they are towards each other. (you can see the bruise on Colby's head from his fall, poor baby. He is so tough though you'd never know that he hurt himself!)
After barely recovering from the trauma of watching Colby tumble down the stairs we found a snake in our garage. Jason and I both HATE snakes. I've never been around one in an uncontrolled enviornment and it was AWFUL!
Finally Jason killed it but it was not a pretty process. What a horrible day!

Oh, Ash, I totally understand about Colby's tumble down the stairs. Doesn't it just make you sick to your stomach? The few close calls Noah's had left me so upset. I'm so thankful that God designed little boys to be able to withstand that sort of thing. Now to the snake... LOL! I had to move this comment window to cover up the image of its bludgeoned body - SO GROSS! Props to Jason for being the snake slayer! He and my grandma (AKA The Squirrel Slayer) would get along famously. :D
