Colby will be a ride lover I'm sure of it! As long as he's being bounced, lifted, spun, he is happy. He absolutely loves movement.

Laugh out Loud
Colby was so photogenic tonight so we went crazy with the pictures. He absolutely loves to be naked and tends to really turn on the smiles when he is. These pictures made me laugh out loud, I can just hear his sweet little giggle that goes along with these smiles. I also had to throw in one that shows his rolls in all their glory. It's the only time in his life where having rolls behind his knees will ever be cute (you also have to love the rolls in his arms too). It is amazing to me to think that he is completely breastfed, God is amazing!
Out growing the bouncy seat
Colby still loves his bouncy seat but unfortunately he is getting a little large for it. When we first bought it he would lay at a 45 degree angle, now he is almost flat. I am afraid if he gets bouncing too much his bottom will hit the ground! Guess that's the price you pay when you're a 20 pound 5 month old!

Making Daddy's Birthday Dinner
Colby was quite the helper when I was trying to make Daddy's birthday dinner (I was on the spot since Jason said he "hoped I could make it as good as my mom makes it"). He was so pooped he fell asleep in the bouncy seat. I was able to make two 13X9's of spaghetti pie, I didn't think we would eat both so I gave one to Leah's family. Jason liked it so much he asked me to make two more and keep them both for us!

Spinder Masonry
My grandpa started his own masonry business called the Spinder Masonry. My uncle Butch continued the legacy and owns that business now. I had to snap a few photos of the guys (my uncle Butch, uncle Mark, his son Patrick and Colby) showing their Spinder Masonry pride.
Colby was pooped after two days of adventure so Sandi capitalized on all of the snuggles he was handing out.
Loving on Kiwi
Kiwi is such a great dog. She is so tolerant of Colby. When she is close he will grab handfuls of her fur and she'll just lean in to him like he's petting her. Colby's new favorite toy is his thumb, he doesn't really suck on it he prefers to chew on it. The last pic is Colby's baseball outfit. I would have never guessed that he looks good in red and white but I think those colors make him look quite handsome!

SURPRISE!
While Jason was in the field I decided to plan a surprise party for his 25th birthday. There weren't many in attendance but the people that were there are the ones Jason is really close with. We had the party on the 19th (his birthday is the 22nd) and since Chad's birthday actually was the 19th I let him help Jason blow the candles out. It was a lot of fun. Thanks to my mom and brothers we had a great poster to hang up as decoration! Our apartment is starting to look a little sparse (due to the packing) but the poster helped spruce things up.

Daddy is home!!!!
As most of you have probably heard by now Jason is going to be deployed. We found out on very short notice, three days after we found out he had to go to the field for a week. He will be leaving for Iraq sometime in February. Colby and I will be driving back to Colorado with the help of my parents. We will live with Bob and I will work at Children's again. We are really sad that he has to go but we're thanking God that he has been here for so long without a deployment (it has been over two years since his last deployment). We are thankful that he was able to be here for the pregnancy and especially Colby's birthday. We are looking at this as an opportunity to save some money so we can buy a house when he gets out (December 2008). I have been on maternity leave for 5 months now and we have had to start using our savings. There is no way we would be able to maintain our lifestyle without me going back to work. In North Carolina the nursing opportunities just aren't what they are in Denver. As usual, God has the best timing of all. We are just trying to stay positive and say lots of prayers for Jason's safety. He is such a great husband and daddy, giving us the best gift of all...freedom.
These pictures were taken when Jason got back from a long week in the freezing field. As you can tell, the boys didn't miss a beat. Colby was thrilled to see his daddy, give him some kisses and show off his new purple seat!

Colby is getting much better at sitting up. I think his big tummy gives him an advantage in this department (although it's a hinderance when attempting to roll over). Tummy time can last for all of 3 minutes now without him pitching a fit. He can lift his whole chest off of the ground. I am sure that one day I'll look down and he isn't where I left him - YIKES! For now I am still loving his immobility.
