Alien Boy...

Chasey got a few mosquito bites on his face two days prior to this picture being taken. Apparently he is allergic to mosquito bites!

His face was so swollen that when Colby woke up and saw Chasey sitting on my lap he said, "Who's that?"

I called the doctor and told her, you could tell she thought I was making a big deal out of nothing but she finally agreed to meet me at her office (it was a Saturday).

As soon as she saw Chase she was astonished. She said she had never seen anyone swell like this before.

She placed Chasey on two different antihistamines and a steroid.

The other huge issue with his skin is that these bites take weeks (6-8) before they finally go away and many of them scar.

It's kind of hard to tell from this picture but even Chasey's forehead was swollen, he literally looked like an alien.

Here is a bite on his arm that he got over a month ago, you can still see the scab and surrounding eczema.

Poor baby, a face only a mother could love!

All of the excitement tuckered Chasey out! Fortunately within a few days of starting the antihistamines and steroids the swelling went down and these didn't scar too badly. The dermatologist said Chasey is just hyper sensitive and this is something he will grow out of. It can't happen soon enough! By the end of summer we weren't even taking Chase outside for fear he would get another bite. The frustrating part of it all...Chase even had two of those bug repellent bracelets on! Colby was outside the exact same amount of time and didn't get a bite all summer long. I'm praying that he will outgrow this by next summer!
