Chase is 9 months old!

Chase is growing and changing so fast but he is still my little baby. He has really turned into a Mama's boy these days which has been very fun for me! He loves to snuggle but is still a little wiggle worm and loves to be on the go.
Sleep: Sleeps through the night, goes down between 7 and 8 and sleeps until 7:30 or 8 in the morning. He will take one nap from around 11-1 and sometimes sneaks in a cat nap in the afternoon.
Likes: Being held, opening and closing doors, eating, jumping, scooting/rolling/crawling, peek-a-boo, patty cake, the pacifier, Colby (he is obsessed with Colby!), lifting the air vents up from the floor, putting anything that he can get ahold of in his mouth, balls, leapfrog toys
Dislikes: He's really easy going, not much bothers him...except when he's tired and wants to be held and there is any delay in picking him up, than we will hear about it!
Food: Still nursing, loves drinking water, will eat any food pureed or not. He's pretty good with table foods but stuffs them all in his mouth as quick as possible (it looks like a feeding frenzy!) so I have to be careful about rationing what I put in front of him. He loves veggie burgers and fruit but he will seriously eat anything we put in front of him.
Motor Skills: He is still doing the "low crawl" aka: Army crawl but boy is he fast, especially on the hardwood floor. He doesn't quite have the pincer grasp down yet but his hand eye coordination is really impressive. He can sit up for long periods of time and doesn't fall over anymore. He now reaches up to be held if I'm near him, now that he does that I am OFFICIALLY wrapped around his finger. He crawled up into my lap the other day, it's a little awkward but he can do it!
Speech: No words yet but this kid is ALWAYS making noise! He 'talks' all the time. He does wave and will lift his arms up when we say "so big!"
Teeth: He has four on top and three on bottom
Chase's personality is really starting to emerge. I think it's safe to say that he has more of my personality, he is very talkative and outgoing. He is such an easy baby to take care of. We are so blessed!

Colby is 22 Months Old!

Wow...I can not believe my little boy is almost two! I haven't done one of these updates for awhile so I figured I would jot down a few notes about the life of a 22 month old...
Likes:
Books - He spends hours a day either reading to himself or backing into a lap with story in hand convincing anyone who will listen to read a story to him.
Cars - The obsession continues. He loves looking at cars and has now taken a big interest in trucks too. He loves playing with toy cars, playing in his fisher price car and going for rides in the real ones
Lovies (I'm adoping Hayley's word because it's so cute!) - Pup, the beloved stuffed animal he adopted from Chase (he was originally a gift to Chase from Pa John and Barbara), and his favorite blankies
Dislikes: He hates loud noises, especially if they're coming from little kids.
Food: He is not much of an eater anymore but he loves breakfast foods at his Grandma's restaurant. He continues to love fruit especially grapes and apples. He's not crazy about strawberries (he must get that from Bob Bob). Mostly he snacks on the go and he loves goldfish crackers.
Motor Skills: He doesn't walk anymore, he jogs everywhere he goes...swinging his right arm. He FINALLY figured out how to get up on the couch and has discovered the joy of jumping on it (we're trying to correct this but it's hard because it's so cute to watch him do it!). He still doesn't go down the stairs by himself. He will sometimes go down holding hands but prefers to be carried.
Speech: This is the most fun area to update. His vocabulary is growing by the hour. I spent the last two days working and was completely amazed when I reached out and he said, "hand" and held my hand. Here are a few of the words he knows and says frequently...Mama, Daddy, Chase, Bob Bob, Kaka (my mom), Dandi (Sandi), Dan Dan, Ty, Papa, Unc (for Uncle Garret), Pup, Cup, Up, Down, Chair, Couch, Bath, Fish, Book, Again, Car, Truck, Train, Hat, Baby, Happy, Nana (banana), Ten (my mom always asks him, "how many grapes do you want and he responds..."ten"!), Two (he tries to do his fingers too), Hat, Shirt, Shoes, Help, Pee Pee, Potty, Poop (what is a little boy without potty words?), Diaper, baseball, ball. He also mimics us when we go through the alphabet and we can get through almost the whole thing while keeping his attention. He says more but these are all that come to mind at 11 at night.
I love his age, the constant state of discovery and learning is fascinating to watch. He is so fun, I am sometimes hesitant to put him down for a nap because I enjoy being with him to much. It is fun to watch his personality emerge but I am trying my best to stay present and enjoy the moment. I can't believe how fast he's grown!

Yard Work...

The boys helped Daddy out in the yard this morning...
Colby has a love/hate affair with the lawn mower. He loves it and is fascinated by it but the loud noise really bothers his sensitive little ears...

Bath Time Fun...

Bath time is everyone's favorite time of night around here. We sometimes spend an hour in that tub! Here are my two bald, happy tub lovers...

Colby loves splashing and pouring and just relaxing in the tub...

Chase does too!
Check out those eyelashes!

Chase is deep in thought here...

Why is it that we have thousands of fun, colorful, interesting tub toys and both my boys like to play with empty medicine bottles and trial sized shampoo bottles the best?

Such a big boy!

Chase uses a sippy cup now. He is growing so fast!

MAJOR Haircut...MAJOR Regret

Chase did such a good job sitting still for the cut...How I miss that baby hair!

I ended up with three bald boys...

Jason doesn't mind it. He thinks you can see their expressions better. I think he is just partial to being bald, all those years of high and tights...

I have no idea how it actually came to cutting the boys hair this short. It all started with a simple little trim and we ended up with two bald boys! At first I didn't mind but now I am totally regreting it and miss Chase baby's hair. Every morning I get him up hoping it will have magically reappear. Oh well! What can you do!
At least we won't have to do haircuts again for a LONG time.

Teething...

Chase is teething...AGAIN!!
Poor baby. He is getting two more on top and two more on bottom. He's doing really well considering how he must be feeling. What a good baby!
All that teething means extra kisses from mama!

Chase the Cherub...

Chase recently turned 8 months. I was curious how much he weighed so I stripped him down and had Jason weigh him (for all that are curious Chase weighed 22 pounds on the dot). I was just admiring his cute naked body when Jason said, "doesn't he look like one of those chubby little angels?" I totally think he does, here are a few pictures of our little cherub...
You can see the blur of toddler legs in the background...

I just love his expression in this picture. He's thinking, "Come on mom? More naked pictures?"

Chase is 'crawling'!

Chase has been mobile for awhile because he is such a roly poly but just two days ago he figured out how to go forward. He is all over the place now. It's not a perfect crawl but it sure is effective!

Funny Mama...

Colby thinks my hair is very funny. This little game provided us with hours of entertainment...

My view...

As I was wiping down the floor after dinner I happened to glance up and this is what I saw...
...kind of hard to get upset at them for throwing food on the floor when I see this!

Zoo Day

Children's offers employees discounted zoo tickets so we decided to take the boys to the zoo. I think I was more excited than anyone in the family but we all had a great time. Seeing such amazing animals really reminded me how awesome God is. It was so fun to get to enjoy a few of his spectacular creations. It was especially neat to watch Colby take in this entirely new experience. Chase just loved to be outside in the stroller and eat snacks so he enjoyed it even though he had no idea what was going on!

Colby wanted to hold all of the small, furry animals. Here he is reaching out for them...
Colby loved to see the lions. He was making his growling noises...
I don't know why he thought it was necessary to knock on the glass or where he even got that idea, fortunately his tiny knock didn't disturb the snoozing lion...

Here he is trying to get into the area with the Hyenas...

Snacks...the key to happy boys.

Chase's puzzled look, he wasn't quite sure what to think of these new sights and sounds...
The baboon yawned, check out those teeth!
Here he was checking out the boys...
This monkey found the boys especially interesting. She was just resting up against the glass watching the visitors. It was so neat to get so close.
This black bear cracked us up, he was just chillin' in the tree...
Penguins are so cute!
Rhinos are not...
Neither are camels...
Colby, our little car fanatic, was more interested in following the golf cart that was collecting the trash than seeing the elephants...
The peacocks are so beautiful...
Colby watched the seals swimming for quite awhile. He wasn't sure what to think. He kept making his fish noise, I guess they're kind of like fish?
Right after I took this picture that tall giraffe in the backround decided to lay down. That is the most awkward thing. To watch this giant, tall animal fold himself down to the ground.
Sure was entertaining though!
All this zoo excitement tuckered Chase out, he snoozed about half the time...

Chase's new teeth...

He's been working on them for quite sometime but now they are out enough that we can appreciate them! He looks entirely different when he smiles now. I just hope we can hang on to them, I've already contemplated getting him fitted for a mouth guard!

Misc. Boy Pictures...

My boys have been very into sticking out their tongues lately. Here is Chase showing his off...
I just had to throw this picture in. Chase is a very active boy, always on the go but he definately utilizes bath time for relax time. Here he is treating it like a spa treatment.
At the Weber household we call this, chillin.
Here is Colby's tongue picture. Colby has what is called a geographic tongue, you can see it really well in this picture. It's an inherited trait in which your tongue gets these raised lines on it. Some times the lines are easier to see than others and the weirdest part is they are constantly moving. Everytime he sticks out his tongue it looks different. Crazy!
I barely even notice the chipped tooth anymore, it doesn't seem to be bothering him either...

Happy Memorial Day!

We had a really fun Memorial day weekend. Jason and I actually had two days off together. It was wonderful. The whole family was dressed up in Marines stuff to honor the day. Of course by the time I got the camera out Colby was undressed for a bath and Chase was a mess but here is one picture I was able to get. Now more than ever I am aware of the sacrifice that all of our current service members and Veterans have made so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have. Thanks to all that have ever served and to their families too!

Boys will be boys!

Our house is in great condition minus the backyard. It is completely trashed. We've already invested tons of money and time into making it look better but as you can see from these pictures we still have a long way to go!
Colby LOVES being outside and on this day he discovered the joy of dirt...
He wasn't eating it so I don't know how he got it around his mouth!

Here you can see he put some of the dirt on his head.
Needless to say he got a bath when he got inside!
Fortunately Chase baby isn't quite mobile enough to get himself filthy in the yard. So after our yard adventures I went inside and spent sometime admiring Chase's beautiful baby blues...
