The Month of March...

Here is an update on the month of March in pictures. Unfortunately my computer is still not fixed so I have to give it back to them again but I thought I'd update the blog before I did...
Enjoy!

Our New House Pics...
We met Jerry at the house to do our inspection. The boys and I had a great time running around the empty house. We are just looking forward to the day when we don't have to leave!
As you can see by Colby's smile, he approves of the new house too!
Chase baby loves it too!
This will be the first room to be repainted. The mural is nice but we're not really music people but the burnt orange paint color has to go!
If only we lived closer to Stacey Timmons, she is a very talented muralist.
Here is the master bathroom, what you can't see is the jacuzzi tub (my favorite part!). We had to make sure it was actually working so we filled the tub up. Colby started taking off his clothes because he thought he was taking a bath. The tub is absolutely huge, it will make bathtime even more fun!
Here is a view of the catwalk from the family room. I can just picture it with some Christmas lights and garland!

Here is a view of the dining room, it's a little dark because of the paint color but other than that I love it. It's a perfect size and I love the light fixture!
Here is a better picture of the dining room, the window gives us a view of the front porch.
Here is a toothy grin from Chase baby!
This is the inside of the study, it has these cutouts which are actually really nice because they let in the light from the skylight in the family room...
Ahhhh, I can't wait to snuggle up next to that fireplace! Colby was helping Daddy and Poppa inspect it...
Here is the upstairs bathroom, the countertops are extra tall (we'll need a step stool!) but there are two sinks for two boys which is absolutely perfect!
Here is a view of the catwalk leading to the master bedroom...
The vaulted family room (something that was on our wishlist!)

Here is the walkway between the kitchen and the garage and dining room, on the left is the butler pantry and the right are some more cabinets. There is also another closet on the right. Colby is standing in the laundry area and that door at the end is the 2 car garage

I was smiling ear to ear when I saw this sign (on the top it says, "contract pending") I wanted to write our names on it and introduce ourselves to the neighboors!
Here is our new home with our car in the driveway, I think it's a good fit for us!

Aunties came over (Ling and Jana!) It was a fun and relaxing evening. Jana is just weeks away from delivering little Rowan, we couldn't be more excited! Aunty Ling was getting some practice feeding Chase baby. She's such a great auntie and will be a spectacular mom someday!
Chase is showing her how to use the spoon
Earlier in the day Chase was getting some tickles from Daddy...
Daddy's whiskers make Chase LAUGH!!!
Colby is VERY into trucks and cars these days, between that and his books he really doesn't need any other playthings...

Chase baby just loves Elmo that his grandma gave him and Colby for Christmas...

He also loves his Tigger from the Turco side of the family...

Chase baby is 6 months old!!!!
In honor of the big day we busted out the rice cereal for the first time. I kind of forgot how much of a pain it is to get babies to eat that stuff. Chase only gagged a few times!

Here is an update on Chase now that he's 6 months old...
He weighs 20.8 pounds and at his well baby check on the 12th he was 27 1/4 inches long! He is in the 97th percentile for weight and 90th for height and head circumference.
Size 9 month clothes fit the best but can still squeeze into 6 month jammies in a pinch and is currently wearing a 12 month outfit that is just a little long.
Motor - There is no where he won't roll, he doesn't stay in the same place for long. He can sit up by himself but topples over so I can't leave him alone like that. He hasn't figured out crawling yet but has pushed himself back onto his knees a few times.
Feeding - He is still nursing on demand (every 3 hours or so during the day). I just started attempting rice cereal in the morning and in the evening but he hasn't gotten the hang of it yet and isn't really swallowing a whole lot.
Sleeping - I really had to buckle down the past week or so and let him cry himself to sleep. The first night he cried for an hour and 40 minutes straight! I finally gave in and held him and he went to sleep almost immediately the next night we went to sleep in his crib but was up a few hours later and ended up in bed with us. I am really trying to make an effort of putting him in his crib awake when I know he's tired and letting him wind himself down. He will fall asleep but doesn't stay asleep long. I tried not to swaddle him but that didn't work so we're still using those swaddle blankets (I think I'll have to figure out how to convert a snuggie blanket - you know the ones there are infomercials for, into a swaddle blanket so I can still swaddle him when he's 14!). This is the area we are really having to work on but hopefully once he gets his own room and we're more settled into a routine it will get better. This whole sleeping thing is my least favorite part of being a mom. It's just so hard for me to let him cry!
Likes - He loves the jumparoo, playing peek a boo and patty cake. He adores Colby. He loves to be held and loves his paci but doesn't suck on it all the time, just for sleep and in the car. He has figured out how to put it in his mouth which has been a lifesaver! He loves sitting in the high chair and really enjoys chewing on these little bath sponges that Aunt Jana gave him.
Dislikes - Sleeping in his crib, car rides that are longer than 5 minutes if he doesn't have his paci.

Snow Day
We finally had a snowstorm here in Colorado. We got about a foot of snow. I usually hate the snow but since we haven't had any this winter I didn't mind. I had to call into work because my car was stuck, it was really nice to spend a little extra time with the boys.
This is when the snow just started coming down. By the time it was done it came up to the bottom of the snowmen solar lights on the patio.
I wanted to take a picture but the snow melted so fast I never had the chance!

I just love this picture of my little Chase baby, he's such a happy little guy!

We offically have a toddler on our hands now!
Colby is getting into everything now and is so busy, his latest discovery...climbing! This is a box of hand me downs that he knocked over and than got on top of, what a little boy!

March 19, 2009
We had a very warm spring day today and Sandi was on spring break so we decided to steal Nikki from school (she's a senior) and go shopping at the outlets. It was such a fun day. My favorite purchase of the day (other than the clothes for Colby next winter...) was my new shirt that has a picture of cheese and crackers and says 'Homies for Life'. I wore it to work and the kids thought it was as funny as I did!

Later that evening Maci and Bella came over. Colby ADORED Maci. He kept trying to get her to pick him up and he wanted to sit on her lap
(eventhough I'm he weighs as much as she does, she still let him!)
Colby thought Bella was so funny! Here she is testing out Chase's hop and pop.
Colby thought that was awesome!

Another beautiful March day. We decided to make the most of it by taking Colby and Chase to a park in a really nice, brand new neighborhood. There is never anyone there and it's a really fancy park. Here is the view from the top of the extra tall slide...

Eventhough Colby is a super timid guy he had no fear when it came to this slide. Of course Daddy and I weren't nearly as fearless so Daddy went down with him every time...

Of all the playthings they had at the park one of Colby's favorite things to do was run down the hill next to the park.

Here he is peeking through at mommy, what a cutie!
More running down the hill...
Two boys on the swings. I'm sad to say though that Colby is almost outgrown them and didn't find them nearly as fun as he did last year...
Here is Chase at the top of the slide with Daddy...
Coming down the slide (we were too chicken to let him slide down the whole way by himself so Jason would just push him up as far as he could reach and than let him slide down)

Here are the two of them after a trip down the slide, they both enjoyed it!

Here they are at the very top! Yikes...that thing goes really high!
Align Center
Here is Colby at the top of the little slide. He loves slides!

Chase baby loved the teeter totter more than the swing, I was surprised. Mommy had fun too!
Daddy and Colby were on the other end...

Here is Colby helping to feed Chase a bottle, what a spectacular big brother he is. Chase was so cute, just like a little bird, opening his mouth everytime Colby came near...

March 10, 2009
Chase baby and Elmo
This was the day of Colby's 18 month well check. He was dressed extra sharp!

He was such a good boy, he didn't even cry when he got his shots! He is so brave!
Here are the statistics now that Colby is 19months old...
Size - Weight was 27 pounds 11 ounces (70th percentile) and 33 1/2 inches tall (80th percentile) he was in the 75th for head circumference.
Clothes - wears mostly 24 month or 2T clothes, he wears size 6 shoes, mostly because his feet are pretty wide.
Motor - he is a climbing, running fool! He finally figured out how to stand up without pulling himself up. When he gets REALLY tired he'll occassionally start crawling again.
Speech - New words include, car, truck, vroom-vroom, and moo for cows
Eating - He barely eats anymore, he will still have a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast but the rest of the day is up in the air. He does LOVE pasta and veggie burgers too.
Sleep - He takes one nap that usually lasts between 2 and 4 hours and sleeps for 12-13 hours at night.

Getting ready for bath time, something that gets both boys smiling!
(Chase's expression in this picture cracks me up!)
Snuggles for brother...
Best friends...

You can see Chase Baby's teeth are just starting to poke out enough where you can see them. What a winning smile!

(I know, Colby's tooth is still chipped and we even have insurance now. I just can't bring myself to put Colby through the torture of being pinned down while they fix it!

We have a contract!!!

Well...after writing 14 offers on 7 different homes we've finally found a house for us! We are under contract!!! This home is in Castle Oaks in Castle Rock, Colorado. It has four bedrooms upstairs and a study on the main floor. It has a full, unfinished, walkout basement. My favorite feature is the vaulted family room with a bay window although I LOVE the kitchen too(complete with a butler pantry and desk). It also backs up to open space. There is an elementary school set to be built in the neighborhood and it will open fall of 2010. Oh, and best of all it's address is 3358 (my favorite number is 5 and Jason's is 8) Falling Star Place. We are hoping to close in less than a month. I'll keep you updated with the progress. Thanks for your prayers!

Weber World

I know it's been awhile since I updated the blog so I thought I'd post a quick message. Life has been chaotic since both Jason and I started working full time. The other night I sent him an e-mail with some things I needed to tell him (pretty crazy when you think I sleep next to him!). I work 6:30am-7:30pm and he works 3pm-11:30pm. I am now a full time oncology nurse, I kissed the float team goodbye. It has been a good change. The staff I get to work with is amazing and the patients and their families are inspiring. Really the only difficult part has been adjusting from working one or two days a week to working three and working every weekend. Jason is also working at Children's as an HVAC mechanic. Who would have thought that Marine Corps training in refridgeration would be our answer in a down economy. It has been an adjustment from the military world but he's handling it well. He is still in the process to be a cop. He was ranked number 28 out of 225. He did a psychological evaluation and a lie detector test. Now they're just doing the background check but we probably won't hear anything until early May. The boys are amazing. Chase is growing like a weed and getting more and more mobile by the day. He is definately ready for solid foods but I've decided to wait until he's 6 months (mostly because he's still my little baby! I can't believe it's time for that already!). We had a well check so I'll post more updates when I can load some pictures. Colby is also doing great. He doesn't walk anywhere anymore, he runs! He especially loves running down hills. He is also talking all the time and says a new word almost every other day. It's amazing! The house hunt continues. We've written offers on 6 homes and have yet to get one accepted. We're writing on homes that are bank owned and short sales so there is a lot of competition on them. Our most recent offer was on a home that had been on the market for three days and already had 4 offers. Despite offering more than asking price they did not accept it. We're just saying a lot of prayers and trying our best to be patient which has become increasingly hard to do. My card reader on my laptop broke so it's in California being repaired (it's been there for 2 weeks) they don't know how long it will take to get the parts in so I'm just waiting. As soon as I get it I'll update with pictures. That's what's happening in the Weber world!

Chase Baby is 5 Months Old!

Last year at this time I was just trying to wrap my head around the thought of having another baby and now I can't imagine life without my little (or I guess, not so little) Chase baby! Here is an update on what is new in his world...
Motor Skills
Chase is now rolling from front to back and back to front. I am not used to a rolly poly baby! I lay a blanket down on the floor for him and within seconds he's off of it. He's rolling himself under tables too. I just can't believe he is so mobile. It is hard for me to get used to since Colby was over 6 months old when he rolled from tummy to back (something Chase did when he was a little over 4 months old) and waited until he was well past 9 months to roll the other way! Chase can sit unsupported for a few moments at a time too. He loves to play with his toes and can grab objects near him and bring them to him (his hand eye coordination is really good for such a young little fellow). Everything that he can get his hands on goes immediately in his mouth (another thing that's new for me since Colby never put anything in his mouth). He has perfected the jump in the jump-a-roo and is a wild man in that thing.

Likes
He loves to be held, he loves to be tickled (he's extra ticklish) and really enjoys kisses. He's started 'kissing' back this month which is really special. He can occupy himself quite nicely with a wash cloth and nothing else. He likes the paci but soothes mostly with nursing (if I'm available). He loves to sleep in the swing (a habit I am determined to break!). He loves to watch Colby and Colby was even making him giggle the other night. He loves bath time and even has splashing wars with his brother in the tub.
Dislikes
When he is put down to sleep in his crib, when he's hungry and not being fed fast enough. When he's done in the exersaucer or jumparoo and isn't picked up promptly.
Sleep
He is still the king of micronaps. He will sleep for longer periods of time when he's in the swing. We will put him down around 8 or so and than he cries at 8:30 so I feed him again and put him down again and he'll usually stay down until 1 or so and than he's in bed with us, tossing and turning until I finally give up on sleep and get up with him. I sware he's the only baby in the world that only requires 5 hours of sleep a day.
Size
Wears mostly 9 month clothes and 6 month onsies. He weighs 19.8 pounds completely naked!

Colby is 18 months old!

Time flies when you're having fun! I can't believe Colby is already 18 months old. Here is an update on what is new in his world...
Motor Skills
He is now walking easily and has started to run. He hasn't perfected stopping yet so he'll usually run into walls but he thinks it is great fun. He has been able to climb up steps but just recently he's become brave enough to climb up all of the stairs. He hasn't figured out how to get to a standing position from sitting without using something to pull himself up with. He sometimes uses a fork to eat. He loves to draw with pens and does a really good job of keeping the ink on the paper and hasn't drawn on himself yet.
Speech
Colby still uses a few signs to get by (milk, eat, drink, please, thank you, more, all done, baby and play) but his speech has really taken off the past month. Here is a list of the words he's saying these days: Mom mom, Da da, Bob Bob, Poppa, Ka Ka (for Suska), Dan Dan, Dandi (for Sandi), cracker (he uses this for animal crackers and crasins), nana (banana), nang (for hanger) and broom (yup...he likes hangers and brooms so much he even has a word for them), charger (because he loves playing with the cell phone charger in the car), vroom (for anything with wheels), and of course animal noises (duck, cow, horse, sheep, pig, bear)
Likes
Pointing out body parts. Anything with buttons especially TV's and computers. The love affair with cell phones lives on. But his most favorite thing in the world are books. He will sit and read by himself for as long as an hour at a time but he loves it most when someone is reading to him (which we do often). His favorite books are, Shapes (by Mercer Mayer) and Chopper (a story about a rescue helicopter that I have memorized!). He doesn't love eating as much as he used to but he has discovered the glory of chocolate when he got into the M&M's one day (guess I know what I'll be using for potty training rewards!). He loves bath time, his favorite thing to do is fill up travel sized shampoo bottles and dump them into each other. Lately he's been very into helping with brother, putting the paci in his mouth, sharing toys with him, giving him kisses and feeding him (sometimes he'll hold the bottle for Chase, othertimes he'll share the food he's eating with Chase!)
Finding his button

Reading with brother and DandiGiving brother his paci
Dislikes
Nursery and any other activity that requires him to be away from his family.
Sleep
He usually goes down for a nap around 10:30 and will sleep anywhere from 2-4 hours. I put him down for bed at 6:30 and he's usually up by 7:30am!
Size
He weighs 30.5 pounds (with clothes on and all). He wears size 5 diapers and clothes in sizes 18-24 months. He is still getting some mileage out of his 12 month onsies (amazingly!). He wears size 5 shoes.

He is such a fun kid to be around, sometimes I will not put him down for naps just so we can have a little extra time together. He has a very inventive and creative personality. I am excited to see what next month brings!
