Baby Boys

We had our 3D Ultrasound today. The placenta was in the way and covered up part of the baby's face but we still managed to get some good pictures. The ultrasound tech said he estimates this baby is a little over three pounds and a little longer than 13 inches. He was shocked when I told him how far along I was and insisted that either my dates are wrong or this is just a really big baby. He estimates the baby will weigh between 8.5-9 pounds when he's born and will be around 19 inches (short and fat, just like Colby) I am trying not to panic about having the baby early and just trust that God will make him come when it's time. Thank you to everyone who came today! It was so nice to see you all!
I wanted to compare them to Colby's so here they are...

Colby
He looks a little like Colby but here is one thing we didn't see on Colby's ultrasound...HAIR!!! From the looks of it this baby has more hair on his head than Colby has now. And, I heard that babies who have a lot of hair are usually dark haired because the hair growth stage is different versus blonde babies. SO....there's a chance this baby might actually look like me!

Fuzzy Haired Baby

Happy highchair time (mealtime is one of Colby's favorites!) Nothing beats chubby legs in short shorts with tall socks!
This picture would be so cute if they didn't have such red eyes. I still thought it was post worthy though, my family took us out to eat for Jason and my anniversary at Texas Roadhouse. Colby loved the sweet potatoes (as you can see on his shirt) and the bread!

Best Anniversary Gift

Is...Colby! He sure brightens my day. I don't know what I would do without him. It's so nice to have a little piece of Jc here with me.

Happy 2 Year Anniversary Jc!

Hi Hunny, I wish we could be together to celebrate but since we can't I thought I'd remind you of what we were doing two years ago today...

The morning after the wedding... The beautiful Dominican Republic...
With not so great food... Swimming with the sharks and sting rays...
Partying off the boat with swimming waitors somewhere in the Carribean...
Headed home from the Dominican, tanner and thinner (resulting from the stomach flu and bad DR food!)
What great memories Jc. I am so lucky to be married to my best friend. I can't wait till you get home and we can make many more special memories together. You are the greatest thing that's ever happened to me and I thank God for you every single day!
Love,
Shley, your wifey

Dada Video

I finally got Colby saying "Dada" on video. I'm pretty sure this can be interpreted into, "Hurry home Dada! I miss you! Come play with me!"

Beautiful Blue Eyes...

Bathtime is always Colby's favorite time and he actually sat still so I could get some good pictures of his teeth and beautiful blue eyes...

Rainbow

The sky was so pretty tonight, and there was a beautiful rainbow. I was thinking...it's been forever since I've seen a rainbow and even longer since Jc has seen one so here it is Jc! Enjoy! I'm sure it's much prettier than all of that sand you have to look at.

Scary Dish Scrubber

Colby is petrified of the dish scrubber. Everytime it would touch his skin he would freak out. It made me laugh so hard that he would try to laugh too but than he would get scared and start to cry. Poor baby, his mommy was torturing him!

The exciting life of a 10 month old...

Colby just loves eating time, he especially loves it when Bob is home. She entertains him without even looking at her! She can ALWAYS make him laugh... Colby actually got from the prone position into this one, the only problem was that he didn't know how to get out of this position!

Colby's First Independence Day

I had to work from 6:45am-7:15pm today so my mom catalogued the day with my camera...

Here is Colby with his beautiful cousins, Sandi and Nikki...Colby's Daddy will be so proud, look at Colby making the most of his pool time surrounded by pretty older women (by that I mean highschool aged...)Good thing mommy wasn't there! She would have freaked out, a blue otter pop! Guess the organic diet is out the window...
Look at those curls!
All that partying wears a baby out. Colby took a little cat nap on cousin Sami (he is hanging on to the chair though, just incase she decides to set him down, he'll be prepared to hang on!)
Big smiles, so much for the cute 4th of July outfit...it doesn't look so cute drenched in drool! My mom said the back massager was a big hit, Colby didn't want to mess around with the baby toys, he headed straight for the adult massage equipment!
Mommy finally got there after work, I was absolutely exhausted but always happy to see my little man. It's the best part of my day! I decided to wear my USMC shirt for my 4th of July outfit, in honor of Jase. This was the first 4th of July in 7 years that we've been apart! I can't wait for him to come home!Big hugs for Mommy!

Baby Acrobatics

Colby doesn't look particularly cute in this picture but I was just amazed at his athleticism. You can barely tell from the picture but he is only touching the ground with his feet (his legs and tummy are totally in the air - he's making a baby plank!). Despite those rolls there is a little athlete underneath! I also think it's funny because he has a whole container of toys but loves the pen holder the most...

Play Date

I had lunch with my friends from high school. Mary is on the far left with her son, David, who was born in July. Colby (who was born in August) and I are in the middle. And Hayley and Logan (who was born in June) are on the right. Hayley lives in Washington and Mary lives in Utah but they both happened to be in town on the same day. It was so fun to get the boys together. One lady asked if we met in some sort of 'Mom's Club'. I'm not even sure what that is but it sounds like fun! (I have to laugh, look at my blonde friends and their blonde sons and than my dark hair and eyes and my fair baby...where did he come from!!) This picture makes me laugh because David is looking at Logan's mommy, Logan is looking at David's mommy and Colby is looking at me...and not one of the boys is smiling! They were all thinking...those mommies are so weird!!

Quality time with Uncle D

Big hug for Uncle... Playtime...
